Of course it is clear to all here that contracts were not properly in place, and that this was caused by a communication breakdown long ago that should have been dealt with. Or we wouldn't be having this conversation.
For this, I apologize (on behalf of, in this case, several parties). Was a fuckup. But it's solvable without any slander.
I would give you all legal jargon HERE, but that needs to be done officially in writing out of protection for you and me, so since I'm in touch officially w label and Navis, I'm reassured that he will report back to you and all involved in the piece on the terms and that no one is using lawyers in this conversation, including Sony, until there is a disagreement, which there is not at this time. I'm on your side. It's a sick visualization and produced a sick video. No reason a large corporation like SonyRCA with the aforementioned operating budget would have any reason to snub. It's a great label and Giorgio is working hard to deliver an AMAZING record.

Well you are talking to a community that is proud to be (mostly) uncommercial and has been screwed by 'the industry' a few times now, so forgive us our scepticism and funny talk.
Im sure most (if not all) of us here are happy how things worked out and if all goes well it will serve as a good example among a couple of bad ones.
I know music videos dont have the same stand today as they did in the glorious MTV times but I would lie if I said I wasnt excited about seeing ASD and the demoscene getting some non-scene attention because of this.
Given, if it wasnt for a respected artist like Moroder things would have probably been uglier from the start. So respects to the old man, can't wait to check out the new album.
Still - this would be a worthy contender for "best miscommunication" at the scene.org awards

Only once has my music been used for an unrelated documentary short about health by the Greek state television.. without my permission.. (and back then, I tried to pursue it only to hit a brick wall and left it be).

I've been contacted a few times by people wanting to use my tracks (fr-08 and -011 mostly) in videos, both as hobby and commercial. And a few ppl used some music of mine without asking, but those were always "resolved" quickly (as in: one friendly mail explaining copyright and the 'I found it for free on the intertubes' fallacy and the video was down or the audio replaced).
The (sad) truth is probably that there are so many people doing music in this world that demoscene-musicians hardly stand out. and while its certainly less bad with the coders and visual artists this story here shows that its still a thing which does not happen too often, either (Fairlight and Quite are the most recent examples I think).
But of course Navis is an exceptional talented artist so you probably hit it a bit harder than most other scene musicians ;)
Oh and while were at it: since ASD releases are getting rarer every year, how about releasing some music for other projects or standalone? I for myself would love to have some more amusic tracks cludging my hard drive :)

On Topic: I feel bad for both parties. Giorgio stands up and tries a come-back. This by itself is a big undertaking. Big respect for that. I'm sure the last thing he wants in this situation is to rip someone up and piss of us sceeners. Also the guys from ASD stated that they'd rather have no drama (kudos for that).
To me it looks like just someone in the middle of production messed up badly. Such things happen and I am sure that the folks who are involved in that will settle this thing out.
Nonetheless, I would totally like to get ASD and Giorgio into contact. Maybe, just maybe something truly amazing could happen.
