Searching for an obscure Amiga Musik Disk
category: music [glöplog]
I had this music disk on either my A500 or A1200 back in the days. I don't even remember if it's OCS/ECS or AGA. My bet is it was OCS/ECS. I don't remember much except I liked it a lot and those details:
1- Most tunes were techno/dance
2- There was a song saying "Saddam Husein" multiple time in it
3- When playing a song, there was 4 large, vertical, bright, blue-aqua-green bars acting as the spectrum/peak meter
I know it's not much, but I hope at least one of you can remember which one it is! Been looking around for the last couple of years, never found it... :( Thanks!

I have no idea why, but while reading your text i got D-Mob in my head and it sticked.
Havent rewatched these, but you could have a look into their 4 musicdisks here:

And eventho i dont think such an obscure musicdisk is in this list, here is a playlist with the best musicdisks from amiga:

Hey hArDy, thanks for trying to help me! :) D-mob was a great suggestion! I tried all 4 music disks from them. Unfortunately, it's not it. :(
Behind the 4 very large vertical aqua-green spectrum bars meter (by large I mean they literally took 75% of the screen!), the background was all black if I recall.
Will now take a look at your playlist! :)

Hmm, the Gulf Crisis started around the end of 1990 iirc...so maybe you should look through this list if something rings a bell...maybe click some of them (middle-mousebutton to open in a new tab...depends on browser tho) and have a look at the screenshot! ;)

If you still dont find it, it´s most likely too obscure to having been linked here on pouet by someone. In this case you could still try to have a look thru Amigascne.org FTP, but seeing they have no folder named "Musicdisks" or alike you´ll have a lifetime-job of finding it i guess! :/

btw, there is script for firefox that automatically shows thumbs on prodlist page:

it helped me few times on similar occasions.

Not a music disk but some details reminds me of this part of Bass Megademo 2
BackSpace, WOOHOO, this is it!!! That's *THE* song I remember!!!
Unfortunately, it's not in the music disc format I wanted, but that's a fantastic start for me. I was not even aware that this song was used in a full demo. The demo says that the group Bass is now part of Drifters/Pentagon, great info. I also know that the song is at least from 1991, maybe before. I'll maybe able to find the title of the song and the composer's name now. Most of the tunes of this demo sounds similar to the music disk I remember, so there is definitely a deeper connection here.
I'll read all the scrollers in the demo, check the Bass, Drifters and Pentagon productions and read the comments on pouet. That's gona help a lot to pin point the music disc I'm looking for!
Thanks! :)

ha! :D
It didn't took me long to make some progress! I saw in the demo scroller the name of the composer is "Bass MC", so I went my Modland archive, and found under Protracker MOD the name "Bass MC". There are 11 modules there. The 11th one is called yeah.mod and that's the one!
I'll keep on looking for the music disk!

Wow... The power of the Internet! That's it Buckethead! That's *THE* disk I was looking for! The meter bars are horizontal instead of vertical as I remembered, but that's definitively the one. I've been looking all by myself for so long, I never thought I would see it again! :)
Thanks to all who have helped! :) Now, I'll go to re-discover the other tunes on that disk!

Hey folks ! Just poppin' in here to add a piece of info about that tune called "Saddam Trip". As stated in the scrolltext and in the greetings of Bass Megademo 2, this tune was only Bass MC's rework on a tune I originally wrote. He wrote it in the Notech demo (Bass/Drifters) : "A message to Skywalker of Drifters : sorry for the music Saddam Trip - you are the original hautor [sic] of the music". Back then, I had changed my nickname from Cyborg to Skywalker, and had moved from Intense to Drifters.
By the way, I had borrowed the "Saddam Hussein" voice and the orchestra hit sample off the intro music of the "Persian Gulf Inferno" game.
Cheers !
