When it comes to engineering Ringo, nerds like to add the odd joke or two. XD
i'd not call it a joke. isn't about demoing multiaxial movement on a line? ;) 
ringo: I'm guessing for the same reason it does the victory dance afterwards? :)
I think the preferred terminology is "over engineered", shows that the programmer knows what he/she is doing and then some. XD
I'm with you guys, I think studying has made my brain go linear not lateral. ;[
