lroop: OK so you add 18 channel FM and colour graphics to an obscure system, that's totally cool. Gets even better when you make demos with it. But the "stock hardware" schtick is a bit silly with those modifications in place. It's sad that you keep making these claims because everything else you're doing seems to be really awesome.

What we mean by "stock" is no permanent modifications, and that demos need to be able to run on literally unmodified hardware, even if slightly less cool in some way (in our case - just without sound, and without color for that one logo). In an era when everyone uses emulators and pre-recorded videos, we just want to see more real hardware.
That was the whole point of us starting Demosplash back in 2011. Originally we didn't even try having compos, we just wanted to use our collection of real hardware to screen demos so people could enjoy them the way they're meant to be seen. We've spent our time and money buying and restoring hardware just for screening demos - for instance the first time we saw Batman Forever, we were so impressed we almost couldn't believe it was real, so we imported a CPC 6128 from the UK just to be able to play that demo. So come to Demosplash if you get a chance, and see what it's all about :-)

Lroop: And it is SO worth it. Saw Batman Forever at your party last year for reals and my head exploded it was so awesome.
