So, finally, just 2.5 months before the actual dates, we are happy to announce Chaos Constructions 2014.
This year we are going back to our traditional last weekend of August, which makes a party month again (Assembly, Evoke, one weekend to rest, Demodays, Chaos Constructions).

Same as last year, all our slides and announcements on PA will be in english and infodesk staff will also be able to speak with you in english. So, we really hope to have many more foreign sceners this year - ask those who attended last year, it's not that scary! ;)


Also, for those who can't make it (or are still afraid of wild Russia ;), remote entries are allowed.


We are willing to help with all the travel and accommodation questions you may have, including writing invitation letters and any other visa related tasks, so don't hesitate to write us!

And now the most exciting news - we launched a new site, which has, you won't believe it, full english version! Here it comes: chaosconstructions.ru.
The compo rules will be there shortly.

...and btw, st.petersburg is worth a visit !

was there last year and it was a really nice experience. very friendly people, always helpful and welcoming - great venue. the language barrier was less of an issue than i initially thought. and yeah, st. petersburg is really worth a visit, esp. in summer. :)

Haven't been to CC yet (and unfortunately won't manage this year either), but St Petersburg is a lovely city. And I'm saying this as someone who was born and grew up in Moscow. =)

dipswitch: you definitely should come next year then! when was the last time you were in Russia, btw?

Last time I was to CC (around 2010):
- There was 'security' (you know, most 'security' people are just slackers here in russia), which wanted to check my backpack every time I was coming into room.
- They even wanted to see my laptop to check some numbers on it (what for?).

It was enough for me to stop attending CC.


Interesting enough, has the situation changed now, when CC's partyplace is some kind of night club?

draugven: yeah, i only had a ~10 day window around the party, with 2 days travel each way it would only leave me 2/3 days to tour around the area and thus bringing along the car started to seem a bit pointless. then i found out that aeroflot's direct flight from dusseldorf costs only 132EUR at the moment, and that's how the decision became a rather easy one :)

i'm hoping other sceners from holland/germany/belgium will book the same flight so here are the details :)

I'm, always sad, that I can't attend because of a long term planned vacation at this time...

but I think I will make plans for next year to come to visit... and dance with some bears in the wild :D

draugven: i'm flying back on monday morning, so yeah, only the sunday evening would normally remain for tourist stuff. so i guess i have to come back some other time to do that :)

concerning the way back, for some reason our mass media has been making good reports about russian airport hotels on behalf of some dude named edward so that's always an option if the rush hour or getting up all too early is to be avoided. but google seems to suggest the public transport trip from the partyplace area to pulkovo is a rather unproblematic 75 minute affair with only 1 stopover so i am guessing i'd be better off just finding a nice hotel close to the partyplace for the entire weekend(?)

yeah, just be sure to contact me in advance to get help with visa. or at least start arranging it not less than a month before the party.

havoc: i can't actually promise you that sunday evening will be free of events on CC. if i'm wrong, i hope random will correct me.
but we definitely will work it out with you one way or another =) (still raving about the awesome ride zaxe gave us incredibly early in the morning of sunday on outline, btw)

dipswitch: so you can manage to go to _perm'_, but can't come to spb, which is approximately 2k km closer?!
just joking, take your time, you are welcome to come whenever you'll be able to.

Also, everybody! You have now around a month to waste before it will slowly start becoming too late to make a visa (specially if you don't have your foreign passport yet). And the plain tickets are becoming more expensive very fast!
