Outline 2014 - May 29th to June 1st
category: parties [glöplog]
When Punqtured told me that we won 2. place in animation I was afraid it was for some crowdpleasing reason and cheated someone out of a higher ranking, but when I just now saw that only 2 entries was entered, I am really happy that we made something quick for you to "enjoy" :)
.. and now get a stream going in the future for those unable to attend your ridiculous party :)

Great party again! The curry was awesome, both as diner and drunk-as-fuck-snack.
Awesome party once again. Big thank you to all the great people there and even a bigger thank you for the organization team!!!! You managed to upgrade the equipment and also the atmosphere :D
What Flashlight said.
Big thank you to the wonderful orgas and all the nice people on-site for such memories.
Thanks also to UkkO for the ride.

Had a lot of fun with a lot of good people.
+ BBQ & Curry
+ Outwine Wine-Tasting. Next year we're bringing cheese and crackers, bitches!
+ Good organizing considering the extremely tiny crew
+ Weather
- Hapcar food gave me stomach troubles all Saturday. I'll learn from that :)
-- Favoring a music act instead of the possibility of showing the PC Demo Compo at a decent volume
The last thing ruined the end of the party for me. Some extremely intolerant and annoying people behind us who couldn't shut up during the low-volume didn't really help with the mood and the whole experience left me with the desire to just pack up and leave.
I can imagine that making that choice can't have been easy but showing a big "fuck you" sign to the people who spend days, weeks and months working on Demos should have been the last possible resort. At a 3/4 day party I'm sure that things could have been scheduled better to avoid that kind of disaster.
For me, showing the hard work of the visitors should _always_ have the topmost priority. And if that means canceling the 11th music act of the weekend - then that's the choice that should have been made.

first an important announcement: i found a cure against post party depression (ppd):
simply party the fuck for 1.5 weeks with your scenefriends and then youll find being home again is one of the nicest things.
i had le crazy time (and many joints ;) in dutchieland and want to thank the organisers of outline for making it possible and esp:
i think that was all gentleman (and scenegirls), sorry if i forgot someone or something. feel free to punch me.

i had le crazy time (and many joints ;) in dutchieland and want to thank the organisers of outline for making it possible and esp:
- havoc and fixato for providing a very convenient solution for me not having a tent reserved correctly - i slept very well and the weather was smiling upon us (yes havoc, next year ill make myself more clear =).
- haohmaru for handing me a much needed c64 psu (i should have gotten you more beers but you were always standing on the wrong side of the counter dude - next party will come for sure tho).
- sim1 for the lift to and xylo+cerror for the lift from the partyplace (sim1 i forgot to ask you if you want any money for the ride, if so send a mail to the list or sth and you shall get it).
- franky for bringing another great pinball set (which i should have played more and hope youll bring again).
- to all the DJs and liveacts (which i wont list individually here)
- thanks and shoutouts also to daniel from fishlabs and of course dfox for making little nordlicht orgas happy (you should all come!).
- TiTAN

thank you for your time and see you at the next demoparty!
Outline (my first one) was so unlike the parties I had been to previously (Revision, tUM, Evoke). The latter are the big(-ish) events with a dark hall full of people cracking away at their prods and a kinda busy athmosphere that I have come to love. Outline was camping out with a bunch of friends, having fun and concerts, and oh yeah, there are also demos involved somehow.
I'm not saying the demoparty aspect isn't important (it is!), but to me Outline was taking "the real party is outside" to the very next level. Needless to say, I loved it! Probably the most relaxing weekend I've had in months.
Shouts to oh so many people, but especially to m0g, whose constant "HALLO, DOJOE, HUHUUUU!" through the megaphone finally made me realize I'm now a part of this wonderful bunch, and no longer a bystander. Thanks mate <3

congrats to all winners =) next time i will prepare something real instead of just stitching two effects together, i promise :P maybe i will even be physically present, let's see ;)
Results file and uploads will follow as soon as the crew managed to catch their breath.
uploads to scene.org that is
Live footage?
really sorry to hear that Outline 2015 either won't happen at all, or if it does, will happen at another location :(

x-post from facebook:
kudos for making outline an awesome party and a place i look forward to come every year. this years party was organized pretty smoothly from my point of view, given the obvious hassle with visitors constantly trying hard to kill the beer reserves and then having arguments with the owners of the place as well. loved being there, would love to come back. would travel wherever for another outline next year, but take your time deciding. cheers!

maybe better to repost Havoc's statement?

Outline 2014, it was awesome. But unfortunately it was also the last Outline as you know it because today we received word that we are no longer welcome at W'tjewel in Eersel. I honestly do not know at this point in time what this will mean for the future of Outline.
To elaborate on that: although the owner likes what we're doing, locations such as W'tjewel tend to focus on hosting youth groups, sports clubs, etc. They feel that a demoparty causes them (and the nearby camping site) more stress than is worth.
we're all young at heart, doesn't drink responsibly and act childish. most of us still playing with our childhood toys (amiga, c64, ...)
what more do they want? ;)))
what more do they want? ;)))
Yeah, the guys at W'tjewel are really cool, but it is quite a strain on them. Having 22 football kids run around or having 120+ demosceners cheering for paard demos is quite the difference.
A shame, but let's see what the future will bring!

Outline 2014 was an excellent party as always. On the plus side, the catering, particularly of the curry and the Hapkar was very much welcomed, with tasty food too ;)
A couple of slight negatives:
Whilst overall the BBQ went well, there was an issue concerning the chicken which was initially being served up wasn't cooked properly. Quite a few sceners found that the meat was raw in the middle, which doesn't bode too well for food hygiene reasons. Hopefully some lessons were learnt from this experience.
On the Saturday night, after the compos and prizegiving ceremony were over, we had an incident in our sleeping room involving friends of one scener who was sleeping in the top bunk above me who kept running into the room, putting the main light on and proceeding to slap or torment this particular scener. The actions of the scener's friends caused a bit of concern at the time though. Later on (although I didn't hear it personally) there was apparently a female crying in the corridor, so whether this was linked to that or not, I'm not sure. After a lot of swearing in the sleeping room to the guys who kept running in and out, eventually the sleeping scener also departed and things calmed down a lot.
With the recent news this morning that we are no longer welcome at W'tjewel, this is sad but as other sceners have posted, hopefully another venue can be located which is of a similar size or bigger in a location like we had in Eersel. Outline as a party has moved around from place to place since the inception back in 2004 and the locations have been better and better every single time.
Here's to the future !

Yes, I was sleeping in the same sleeping hall, being extremely annoyed about these inconsiderate morons too. Seriously, what the fuck? We are not 15 anymore, are we?
Apart from that, Outline 2014 was absolutely awesome. It felt so good to be back and see old friends. Even more sad is the news that we won't have Outline at the same location anymore. I hope some other worthy venue will appear! Massive props to Havoc & crew.

Apologies to those who received raw meat from the barbecue. Sadly the grate of the barbecue was too close to the coals, at least to start with, meaning the meat got charred before it actually got properly cooked through.
For next year I would like to see if we can at least pre-cook the chicken either by boiling it or roasting them in the oven before putting them on the grill; depending a bit on the options we'll have available at the next venue.

it was a blast! shame we have to leave this ossom location!
Do we know who these people are that caused all this ruckus?

...and more to the point, can we please agree to alert the organizers to this kind of nonsense as it happens?
When this kind of nonsense happened, I had nothing on but my underpants, and my only desire was to sleep, not to walk up to the infodesk... :P
