FRANKY'S 80S ROADSHOW (BE)

In the late 80s the Belgians ruled the electronic music spectrum for exactly 6 months. Set to the tempo of 120 bpm, Franky will provide you with some easy-going afternoon music.

IRRLICHT PROJECT (DE)

Irrlicht Project performs music using old computers, obsolete media and obscure software. His favorite instruments: ZX Spectrum and TI graphic calculators. Ooh yeah!

Since my laptop's display backlight is currently suffering from a cable break, I'd need an external monitor to work on potential compo entries, but bringing one along isn't really an option. Can someone probably lend me a spare screen for the duration of the party? VGA/Displayport, preferrably FullHD-ish but of course I wouldn't be picky. :)
Saga_Musix: Surely you must know opmpt so well by now that you can operate it blind?

Surely I have a monitor at home that's a bit uncomfortable to carry with me in the train? :P
did you check e-mail?

I can't promise anything but I'll try to get a spare tft along. I'll get back on this before Outline so you can consider me as your backup-plan :) The reason for this is I don't own a car so the final decision is not up to me.

numtek, that would be awesome! :)
Hello,

If some people are worried about their PC sizetros not being DOSBox compliant or wonder if there are 16/32-bits VMEs in combined wild compo, I will happily offer to run their prod on my XP SP3 laptop NTVDM - Intel Core2 Duo 2Ghz CPU 2.8Gb RAM - in case of any trouble, in last resort and with the orga's permission.

So either way your stuff will run well and I don't think there is need for worries ;)
g0blinish: did you send e-mail?

i am thinking about submitting a remote entry to the 128b compo

i already asked outline via mail and Marcel van Wijk on Facebook
but didnt get a reply, so i'm asking this again here, and some more:

1.) when is the deadline for submitting?

2.) what files are required for a valid entry?

3.) what would the environment be for MSDos?

4.) how does a lower filesize (64,32 ... ) influence the compo?

5.) does the tinytro have to be previously unreleased?

6.) whom do i send my stuff to?

Sorry for possibly noobish questions, and thanks in advance =)

I'll answer some questions where i can!

1.) Well, we don't really have internet at the location and organizers will be there early, so i'd say submit before Wednesday the 28th!

2.) The files to make it run? The rules for 128b are quite simple:

Quote:
128byte

Maximum file size: 128 bytes.
Your entry can run on any platform, but please bring it with you.

Which means we can't guarantee all setups ever being available.

3.) Compo team?

4.) depends on the compo, the size will be shown on screen, people are drunk, who knows what might happen!

5.) Yes

6.) Use the contact e-mail address on the website I suppose? Compo team?

g0blinish, that's the mail for ticket payment issues, if you need an answer today forward to me personally (same address as before)

hellmood,
first off: compos AT our domain is the best place for such questions, i'll give you the answers i know off the top of my head and will ask alpha-c to fill in the rest when he gets back from work
1) thursday may 29th 08:00 AM. after that time, all orgos travel to the party location where we have limited internet access and thus no guarantees can be given that we actually see your mail before the compo deadline (you can still try, though, but before the deadline is much, much preferred). you could consider circumventing the earlier deadline for remote submissions by having it delivered to us by someone who visits the party.
2) theoretically just the executable. nfo and source files would be appreciated but are not mandatory. the entry itself cannot depend on the additional files in any way and thus should also work when the additional files are not present.
3) you mean environment variables which are set in the startup files i think? or do you want to know what system or emu we use for the compo? in the last case, we've used both real hardware and dosbox in the past, plan is to do the same again this year so let us know what you want and we can see if it's possible.
4) not at all, it might influence the voting because we will announce the smaller file size but that's up to the visitors
5) yes, absolutely
6) compos AT our domain
hope that helps :)
