Ever wanted to roam the alien world in CDAK?

Every scener should give this a try.
It's jaw-dropping and full of cubes!
You get the same feeling you got when watching CDAK.

Amazing what one can do in 4k these days.
Controls are awful. Ladders worse than in Half-Life 1. Some parts are awful, well, because of the controls. But damn, some parts really are crazy beautiful. There is even a scene that could easily win a demo compo !
15$ for that?
If i want to roam CDAK i disassemble it, put the shadercode in my tracer-engine and have a look!
I start to wonder if it´s really that easy, code shit, put on steam, profit!

Search Google for Blame! by Tsutomu Nihei. Every single one of the screenshots of this "game" is taken directly from pages in Blame! Blame! was followed by Biomega and the currently in progress work Knights of Sidonia.
This is one of the most frustrating horribly designed games I've played. I'm gonna probably finish it tomorrow and rant a bit more.
How about CDAK on the FaceRift?
CDAK is actually the final event in the VR demo room setlist at Valve. People seem to like it. :)
Not having played it but watched plenty of gameplay footage as well as the three trailers, my question still remains: where does the CDAK-comparison come from? CDAK is neither full of cubes or hallways. AFAIK the only similarities is that they both feature fog (!) and have an ambient soundtrack. :)
Not interested in the game.
But floating through the CDAK world in Oculus Rift with free head movement? That would be quite a trip!

i can see the connection between cdak and the visuals in that game, mostly in terms of setting/style.
look at the outdoor scenes of the video, with a little bit of imagination it feels like the outside of one of those city-spheres you see in CDAK.
it is a little far fetched tho, but with a little imagination you can see the patterns match.
anyway, doesnt make me wanna play it ;)

Wtf, wow! Do the Quite guys know this? CDAK must be amazing with good VR gear.

Yeah, Atman Binstock (who put it into the VR demo) asked unc first.
Apparently CDAK was a total pain to get running at framerate (95Hz stereo rendering!) though. The version in the demo is lower-res than the rest of the demo, and Atman made the resolution even lower outside the center.
It's a lot of fun walking around in that scene.

Clever trick.
