XaviXPort - how interesting is this hardware?
category: general [glöplog]
probably some or most of you heard about XaviXPort - how interesting is this kind of game console for creating stuff?
Never heard of it before, but I admit I find this sentence entertaining:
(Emphasis by yours truly.)
Quote:
The following year at CES 2005, SSD COMPANY LIMITED introduced two new XaviXPORT titles (XaviX Golf and XaviX Bass Fishing) each containing the upgraded "Super XaviX". This new chip is said to sport a 16-bit high central processing unit (65816) at 43 MHz.

From their website, it looks like the CPU (and everything) is built into each cartridge, making the main console basically just a power supply and adapter from cartridge port to composite video output.
So, you'd have to tear down one cart to replace code on it, or build your own cart which would be custom hardware anyway. Why require their obscure docking station then?
