Accuracy and resolution of objects depends on the type of extruder and assembly quality of printer. Everyone usually goes by layer height. Factors for resolution on a Prusa i3 using Magma Nozzle:

00.05 mm layer height on high
15.00 mm mechanical resolution X
15.00 mm mechanical resolution Y
00.80 μm mechanical resolution Z
03.00 mm filament diameter
00.40 mm nozzle diameter

@Exin: I had to make the bottom part of the duck filled and flat. I edited all vertexes on the bottom to be the same Z.

@Inopia: duck.stl

Where to download the pouet pig 3D model?
from here (I think it's complete)...

Nice thread. I just made a pig just for fun.
There are no textures. Just the triangulated shape prepared to print in pink.

Note that DeadDeer supports the .STL format and have a function of nurbs from any mesh to fully rounded mesh.

there's a better pouet pig model done by nanook/roman cortes, iirc!
I have a version of the original 3D pouet pig here, but I am sure there was a version of this with more polygons. I think it came from the 'origins of the pig' thread.

It was posted here originally, but the download is now gone.

Here we go:

Printed using glow-in-the-dark PLA, with a flashforge 3d printer. Shortly after i took this photo I accidentally dropped the pig and it the pigtail broke off, GRAH. :)

There's still some leftovers visible from the supporting structures, as I printed it tail-first, looking upwards, with full exterior support. The mouth came out really nice this way:

@Inopia: cool duck. What printer did you use?

Thanks everyone for all the pig 3D models! I can definitely use them for demo purposes.

@red: Nice pig. The one i had printed didn't come out as good as yours, but will be stepping up the game with smaller nozzle and PLA plastic. The tail and the ears snapped off.

Luis: your prints look pretty good nevertheless. I think I printed the pig a tad bigger than you, and the ears are pretty fragile here too. What software are you using for printing? Your support structure looks different from what my version of ReplicatorG/Skeinforge generates.
I'm also still fighting with warping, putting hairspray on the heatbed helps a bit (if you dont mind the mess and the fumes), I yet have to test kapton tape.

@luis: it's a prusa mendel a colleage and I built. It's not very accurate but it works. We use it mainly to print parts for embedded systems like enclosures and whatnot :)

@cosmic: Thanks for that keychain model. I will print it in metal and save you one.
