Hey!

So I've been asked to book dates for Sundown next year but we don't get our usual spot around early September. The dates we can have are either 20-22nd June or 17-19th October.

What would be the best choice? Please let me know your preference. :)

June sounds good to me. Sunshine, sea, and 3am on the beach without having to wear thermal underpants.

October is wet, cold, and also birthday season, with those dates sitting bang in the middle when it's most likely the family get together happens.

But, more to the point: Sundown 2014. Fucking yeah! \o/

Hmm tricky one, Ruairi! Nordlicht doesn't have a new location yet but it would likely be in june or july again (really depends on the location outcome tho!) I'd really hate to see this clash with Sundown :/

The October dates will indeed clash with TRSAC, so I'm obviously all for a summer party :)

Maybe I'll make it this time. I've intended to every year, but haven't managed to go since 2005 :-(

The June date conflicts with @party *but* it could be kinda cool if we could get some collaborative party/party streaming action going on, like Rewired and Edison earlier this year.

Actually, having sister parties in locations far from each other could be kinda cool -- like sister cities.

If finances allow on a personal level then a Sundown in June 2014 would be good. October may be tricky though. Mind you, Outline is 2 weeks before the proposed dates, but we'll see what happens and how things pan out.

I would hope that Sundown can return to the original dates in September in the future - that way, if another smaller UK demoscene event was to be organized for the early part of the year (say late Jan / early Feb but not intending to clash with Datastorm) then that wouldn't affect the rightful pride of place that Sundown has during the autumn.

metoikos, it's a great idea but Sundown has issues with bandwidth which would probably rule out party-to-party streaming. Something like that could be really fun though :)

Seems like June is winning. I'm easy to be honest but if no other parties are booked now, then I'd say lets get it in the diary.

Also I now have an excuse to harass Ruairi continually to get the party on the road!

Felice: It's unlikely to clash with Datastorm as next year is the last one. Although there is FAP and Payback around that time.
