Eh. Pouet is a database. If you release something, it's bound to end up on here, no matter how you feel about the tacked-on bbs and comment sections. You're asking to remove demoscene history. No matter how insignificant - fuck that.

"a released prod" is "a released prod". you have the rights of your prods but you don't have the rights of the scene history. so, if you don't like pouet, go ahead and leave. but you can't ask your prods to be removed from the database.

That is a very bold statement. Of course he has the right to request the removal of his personal data (and yes that includes references to prods). Not at all saying that I would welcome such a removal, quite the opposite actually, but don't tell people they have no right to ask for a deletion of their personal references. Because if that was really true, then I wouldn't want any of my future prods (should there be any) to be listed here.

FULLY MY OPINION but:
Once you release a piece of art to the public on the internet it should stay public, because it becomes public internet art, that includes pouet database. That piece of art is no longer at your hands, sure its your piece, but its also OUR art from the point on you release it, we don't have to have the rights to modify it but we have the right to view it and store it. Removing these pieces of art would be to me same as censoring the internet.
Mudlord, If you have a good reason how these productions affect your personal life then I think you are obligated to your complain. I don't want to hurt anybodies personal lifes just because of some demo they released and they did no real harm to anybody with that demo.

@mudlord: pouet links to productions, it doesnt host them. So you adress your request to the wrong people, because you have no "copyright" to what the pouet database holds of information about your productions. You simply have no right to ask them to delete the information about your work, because its not your property.
If you dont want your productions to be downloaded from the internet anymore, you have to go to the owner of the websites hosting your demo programs, so others can download them from there, and ask them to remove the files from their servers.
pouet then has no links anymore to your productions. but what is written here about your productions, is not your concern.

It is actually quite simple in theory:
Most prods are released under some kind of license. Most party rules nowadays actually tell about the default licence the prods are released ("All entries are released under CC[...]").
If you are not ok with that, you are free to release it somewhere else.
With that licence, as far as i know, even the author has to go with the terms in it.
If it says that everyone is free to distribute it without explicit permission, you can't just determine who is allowed to distribute it as long as they go with the licence.
That's the theory, i guess.
You can, of course, ask for the removal of your own prods anyway and they're maybe removed by courtesy. But that's somehow a bit rude and far away from what releasing prods should be about.
What has been released stays released, that's somehow an unwritten rule - unless there is legal trouble involved (If someone is accidentally a member of GEMA fore example... ...).
That's btw somehow something i am missing here (Nah, i'm not missing legal trouble ^^):

No prods will be removed, unless the submission was faulty or they are a dupe.
