Not too many foreigners around this year?

yeah.. lack of the usual suspects like gargaj or navis may be the reason why urs and me were sitting in the compostudio... and why the democompo was not as hiqual as usually.

Yeah, saw you on the stream. :)

So, what were the compos like? I missed them all.

Personal opinion: 1k was great. 4k was so-so. Demo was… short? I can't recall having only seven demos at Assembly before. (13 entries in 1k, though…) Didn't get to see oldschool because the stream schedule page claimed Finland was in UTC+2 when it's really in UTC+3 :-)

Could somebody explain, how webgl 1k/4k entries are there and not real wild ones btw? I mean, when i've noticed this, i went to see the whole set of webgl-enabled browsers in current rules, but i don't quite follow the logic behind it.
Are any of such browsers coming as a part of vanilla linux distro now? Because it is certainly not so for windows ofc.

Isn't IE10 supposed to support WebGL and don't most linux distros include either FF or Chrome, both of which support WebGL?

IE11, IE11...

Great party again, tnx!

One thing that would be nice to be considered for next year would be to have a separate mobile demo compo again. Or maybe just allow high end mobile stuff in the main demo compo?

No top rated ASM demos posted yet on home page's left column? :(

phewwwww... what can I say.
Well, firstly this ship I'm on should stop moving all around (its my head, too much demomaking, only 6 hours of sleep during 3 days).

Secondly, great party. Greetings to everyone, especially always nice to see Portal Process guys :)

kurli, or how about just putting low end(psx, gba, rasberry, pentium) AND mobile platforms to the same compo? It's quite unpossible to compare a metro station sign against Android, or compare lcd against PSX. But comparing rasberry and Android is still possible.

good progress on the 1k intros - not so much in 4k. demo and oldskool were a disappointment compared to earlier years. skrolli stand was great but the lack of bigger scene presence on the corridors was a pity.

Thanks +1 for the great party! The earlier screening times of executable compos worked out a whole lot better than the usual late night "nap sessions". I hope this screening schedule is a keeper for years to come.

Bzm was very "high-fidelity" this year too, perhaps finally AsmTV on beamer next year?? :D

asmTV on beamer on bzm.. wouldnt it kill the scenearea even more?
added on the 2013-08-05 11:39:58 by _Chucky_ _Chucky_
except that bzm _IS_ the scenearea.
Well. is a PART of the scenearea. if everyone is at bzm there will be no releases. then asm will soon be a game-only party and that would suck bad.

So maybe that was the problem this year. too much bzm?

maybe the connection between assembly and demoscene is vaning because of.. well not much connection
added on the 2013-08-05 13:33:44 by leGend leGend
there is connection.. dreamhack... there you can see NO connection

well, most sceners prep their prods prior to the party and most sceners at bzm submit entries inbetween boozing. so i doubt bzm has negative influences on productivity.
Well if ppl only go to bzm and doesnt even care about asm and not even buying tickets bzm will have a negative influence. especially for the nonpaying ppl telling orgas: we doesn't care anymore.

asm does care about the scene, they have to do other stuff aswell as it is expensive as hell having such a place etc. but they shows demos, compos WITH kill audio and lights..

not like dreamhack that last time they had a scene area basicly told us to fuck off.

Um, [citation needed]?

I have been at asm a few times, I never saw any correlation between BZM attendance and release quality/quantity. Of course any contrary evidence is welcome.
