Not welcoming

farfar: you never requested it to be deleted either, you just said you wouldn't mind if push comes to shove :)

Surely, we're not in the "beautiful" range yet, are we?
Not that I personally think it's a work of art, but who the hell are you to decide?
aye, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! personally, i LOVE disembodied tits. they are great for juggling!
Why delete it if you can just add some artificial thumbdowns? Just to preserve history. :)
can we have a boobs of shame with all those who upvoted that logo?
Gargaj: that logo was more monty python, but this thread has moved past that one logo hasn't it?
Sadly, it has. It's all about people overcompensating with "morally correct" opinions now.
gargaj - true, I didn't directly ask anybody to delete it.
I said this on page 2:
and now I would like to formally request that admins delete that infernal logo :)

I'm sorry, and I apologize! Delete the logo, I'm fine with that.

The problem is the beholder is the straight white man. That's the problem
I still have a copy on my harddrive of course, so we can make t-shirts
I may or may not be joking about the t-shirt.
you have problems with straight white men? well, al-qaeda is still hiring...
did you really just say that?
but what about all the straight non-white men who like titties?
but what about all the straight non-white men who like titties?
Also : I can pretty categorically assert that I don't consider it art.
However.. I also believe in Roland Barthes' death of the author principle

21:31 <@niels-> nobody would stick it to her and her response is to make a stand against "objectification"
I have lots of problems with straight white men. They are one of the largest categories of assholes on the planet.
I have a problem with institutions of straight white men. Media and the concept of beauty being two of them. I would go so far as to say the users of pouet reflect primarily the interests of straight white men.
so. the problem is you?
what do you mean, exactly, when you say the users of pouet reflect primarily the interests of straight white men?
do you KNOW what you mean?
do you KNOW what you mean?
I don't think so. Whereas I could distantly grasp what was being said on my flipside of this discussion, we're now heading for ridiculousville. Also known as the land where it's best to reside outside of this thing called context.
Maali> I'm a women and being a butch lesbian doesn't take away from that.
plaf> The fact that that logo got voted up so much reflects it. The fact that this is such a controversial topic relfects it.

So if the discussion has strayed, why not reset it back to the original point:
Do you think a logo like that slapped on the top of this site is the most appropriate welcome a yet-uninitiated visitor can get?
Do you think a logo like that slapped on the top of this site is the most appropriate welcome a yet-uninitiated visitor can get?
gargaj: It's really not (and that happily reflects my initial sentiment on the matter).

What kind of dumb question is that? Why should the site cater to a bunch of theoretical people that might come along some day in the future instead of its actual users (who can already vote on whether or not logos are displayed)?
Gargaj> no, I don't think it's appropriate
