Yes, it has changed. The popular demo is no longer placed first.

puls still needs to be there :D

It's possible to beat these demos, but each time a new one enters the top 10, it gets harder to do so.

And when I say it's just you, I mean it's that you're not making demos better than the ones in the top 10. Or at least not hyping up demos enough to be in the top 10.

See, the top 10 mostly contains demos that are the overall most popular, including people outside the scene.

that and the fact that looking at the code now, the ranking algorithm doesnt seem to be in the crontab so it has to be done manually every now and then... :D

Personally, I think that the scene isn't doing the best outreach/PR with the current algorithm...

TLM: It would take a lot more than a new algorithm to make the Pouet front page an effective outreach tool.

what sceners consider the best demos are not necessarily the best way of doing outreach - I think something like Curio works much better for that :)

Nah, that's been done before - you don't even need a botnet, just a TOR router.

If this top is ranked by views or likes then it has positive feedback because it's on the frontpage. People vote for demos because they are on the frontpage because people vote for them! "Good demos not in top 10" on the frontpage would be a lot better.
