Looking for nice Linux demos
category: offtopic [glöplog]
Hi there,
what nice Linux demos can you recommend? I have tried some, but they often lack libraries or hang or do not work for any obscure reason, which is sad. What demos run without hazzle? Thanx. I run openSUSE 12.1 which should not be too outdated i think.

Try wine.
i don't understand Linux, and I never will :)
i can't recall any. they're all pretty weird and not anywhere near "nice". stuff i do sucks also
Linux with its "OS as a DIY kit" approach does not help, the often-updated packages set is highly variable. The sound system is a legendary mess.
(But for science/engineering work, Linux and me, it's a love story. Go figure...)

plenty of mfx/kwl demos are ported!
Follow pista's advice - there are some nice native demos out there.
I even run some without x before using the fb (not from pouet IIRC - if I can dig up a link I'll post it).
Beware any that ask you to become root - I have seen that before.
That's ok, iq - I don't think Linux understands you!
