Shame. This weekend was the first time I've ever met you and I enjoyed chatting to you and thought you hosted a fantastic party. Sure there were a few things that didn't go perfectly (and they all seemed the be the venue's management's fault and outside your control), but I think you created an excellent party and space to chill out and have fun. I haven't been to many parties, but I think this weekend was one of the most enjoyable ones to date. There aren't many people around who can successfully organise an event like that.

Anyway, all the best for the future. I hope you won't stop being creative and can still find a way to engage with a scene which you obviously love and have been involved with for longer than I even knew there was a scene. I'm sure you're probably making the right short term decision - life's too short to deal with unnecessary hassle, but that doesn't mean you have to stop doing things you enjoy too.

If you have to open up your own thread on Pouet, in all caps, about quitting the scene, you're just looking for attention and sympathy. Take a break from the scene if you want but don't be melodramatic about it.

I behave exactly like I want to, and we always have a blast .. all the parties we go to keeps getting bigger and bigger and each party we get to know more great people from around the world.

The ones saying that the scene is dying is just saying that to defend themselves for quitting the scene since they don't have what it takes anymore!

I'll leave the scene too. That's decided. Rebb and hitchhikr leaving the scene too and insulting all of us is the reason!§1einz.

Hey Markus, this all sounds rather drastic to me. I sure hope the fact that our parties collided has nothing to do with your decision because I think last weekend proved my point that there can be 2 great demoparties happening at the same time. As for the whole bubble debate, the only reason that went on as long as it did is that you are (were?) a rather prominent personality in the scene. With that fame comes scrutiny, which more often than not is rather unfair. I'm probably just lucky that nobody attempted to fry me for the slew of Vallejo ripoffs I did over the years. Or maybe they don't even care to go there because I couldn't get so riled up anyway? Who knows, who cares- either way, it's a damn shame things have to be this way, and I wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide to do next!
