the secret (to make anything great in the demoscene and in life)
category: residue [glöplog]
Ladies and Gentlemen,
people says that to succeed you've to work hard: they are wrong!
To succeed you've to work long, that is spend time.
And it's not hard because if you spend a lot of time on something
that means you like it either you would have given up for long.
If you've given up that means this is not for you:
if you've given up making music then try code and if you give up code try graphics.
If you've given up everything above then that means the demoscene isn't for you
or try to be an organiser, a bit trader, ...
And if the digital world don't suit you because you don't want to spend time
in front of a screen, that's no problem:
there's so much things to try elsewhere: try cooking, yoga, real paint, sports, ...
There is always something you'll like to do
and
this is this things you've got to find.
And the way to find it is to try absolutely everything you can get your hand on.

it is possible you have to work hard at the start of your chosen activity, then you improve your skills and things are getting easier.
It's interesting, though I rarely can work for a long time on a single demo. When you do something you want to release it (get rid off it) and start something new. Maybe that's why I haven't released a very well polished demo. Though I still like coding but for short projects and little experiments.
EP: maybe it's time you "spend a lot of time" on something else than the demoscene. what about yoga?
Yoga would be nice. Maybe we relax then and start loving each other.
yeah, you should definitely join him! ;)
Actually, I tend to agree to the idea he formulated...
try doing taxes... it takes you too long and you don't enjoy it! yet, you keep doing it cos otherwise you screw yourself over financially :P
