Interestingly, if you google search with a *mirrored* copy of the image, you get a bunch of matches from some kind of phone sex site in Spanish and Hungarian - it looks like they ripped the demoscene image rather than the other way round, though...

I'm guessing that the face and the hand were drawn from different references.

Oh well... I knew the demoscene was ripping Boris Vallejo, but not that much (we are talking of at least of one hundred pictures). But while some pictures are... I would call them "re-elaborations", others are 1-1 copies.

What's the point of that?

@friol: That’s the dark side of the scene, I think. I can not understand why obviously talented people copy pictures nearly 1:1. Even if they were re-drawn or re-pixeled or whatever, they are still copys for me (because the idea, colors and structure was stolen). Other people apparently don't have problems with that but for me everytime I discover such a thing my respect for the copying artist decreases and first of all I cannot enjoy their future artworks anymore, cause I always think they could have been copied.

I think the evilness and lameness begins when people claim others works as theirs.
if i find the perfect picture in which just a pixel is wrong in my eyes and i take that picture and change that pixel to my liking and say its originally the work by <xy> but i fixed it (in my opinion) by changing exactly this and no other pixel... i think you should not only be allowed but encouraged to do so.

Well, consider this: In painting, masters have always been copied by the apprentices to let them learn the basis techniques.
It does not disturb me at all to see pixel artists copying Boris Vallejo or others to increase their pixel technique as long as the original artist is credited in a way or another.
Would be more annoying if some of the works were just simple scans reworked a bit (which I suspect some...)

This was used quite often by Spreadpoint in different ways and colors. It could be made by »Marvin« according to this. The visually closer version was used in this prod but there are no credits.

If this is the »Title Picture« it could be drawn by »Facet« according to Zine 12 Credits

This is from »Enjoy The Silents« by The Silents and was drawn by »Saint«, »Aero« or »Terminator« according to 4:00 in this video

Looks like one of the signatures in this is »H2O«. Perhaps he knews more.
