Giana Sisters are back!

hmm.. reading all this flame about that game could be a form of envy... :S
Looks delicious! i still have my disks for the original game on Amiga :D
daXX: what flame? there's exactly one sort-of-negative comment here :O
I could've done without the whirly spin / dash attack add-on (not liked that much in any of the "modern" Sonic games, for example), BUT it is very heart-warming to see the folks of Spellbound making a comeback with style, and Machine Supremacy / Chris Huelsbeck combo is gonna rock hard! :)
It just looks like a modern platform game with retro music to me. The music and the characters are about the only connection to the original. It does look like it might be good though :)
yeah, a shame it's not a mario ripoff anymore.
gargaj: I thought they showed some balls actually admitting it was a clone in the first place :) AFAIK, the original developers went through quite a few legal hoops to avoid spelling it out.
considering the game was (afaik) pulled off the shelves for that very reason, i'd say hooray for new mechanics.
well okay, "new" (cough, superpapermario, metroidprime, cough)
one thing though: if the whole light/dark world switching is gonna be needed as often as it is in the gameplay video, and the music change will be mandatory, it's gonna get on people's nerves with lightspeed.
yeah, i guess they could have done an up-to-date version of mario. But nintendo has kind of been doing that too, and it might hit a big legal brick wall even faster than last time :D
Well, it'd get my vote if it had the red sector cracktro at the start.

I must admit...when saw "Giana Sisters" and "kickstarter"...I got a concussion from the facepalm.
But this is quite decent...Its just that there is alot of...sad/desperate projects that tries to get funding for an iPhone apps or whatnot.
Not that...I donated some...dollars on behalf of some crazy grognard forum to Brian Fargo, then some crazy grognard donated nearly 900 dollars in my name.
Which...resulted in Chris Avellone drawing me a custom avatar.
*Sorry, I just wanted to get that story out.
