*selfwritten tool to get a UI for shutdown cmd -> "shut down in time X". So that you can leave after starting huge things

Snipping Tool won't help you with scrollbar'ed windows. Then you need SnagIt, which is a annoying bloatware, but works quite well. :)

how about plugin based infrastructure, proper directory synchronizing, proper compare by content, convenient shortcuts (like directory bookmarking or previously visited directories or even basic stuff like rename or create new file), and an actual convenient no-frills gui?
midnight commander isnt bad but tell me when they fixed it so you can fix a typo in a filename with F6 without having to type the whole filename again or when you can go back to the previous (not parent!) directory with a single keystroke.
