Android Demos
category: offtopic [glöplog]
Anyone know of Android Demos that runs great on a 600mhz arm with 256mb ram and Android 2.1 ?
For a start, you may want to give Para 'N' droiD a try. I'd appreciate any feedback on technical issues.
Carbon Trioxide should run on any ARM based Android device but some effects are slow with devices with poor FPUs.
Derelict requires a high end device because it uses OpenGL ES 2.0 for rendering.

nice seen them now, all was slow on my device but Carbon Trioxide was nice, and Derelict only got sound no video but seen it on the ASM stream and the Para 'N' droiD i saw live at BP last year :)
Grave digging here..
Surely there's more android demos out there. Got myself a nice tablet yesterday (Archos 101 G9 Turbo), so it'd be nice to have some demos on here. Already have the ones mentioned in this thread, they all run great on ICS 4.0.3.

Meh why are these things not in the market.
Dose2 is out on Android
--> bittin, that made my Olipad sad halfway through...
Yeah, crashed on my archos as well.
speaking on android. anyone luck with installing it on AMD hardware? (asus tablet)?
Isnt there an x86 version of android? That should probably work...
yeah, but anyone tried installing THAT? ;)
Yellow Rose of Texas by Fit & Bandwagon is on Google Play (previously Android Market) and runs great on pretty much any android device.
san angeles observation/trauma is the gles example in the android ndk
Maali: I've been considering installing it on my netbook. I've heard plenty of success stories.
I've upgraded my desire to the HTC one x. I'd love to see some decent demos to push the limits of this beast of a phone. Ive tried all of the other demos mentioned in this thread, they all run beautifully. But can't find anything that gives me that "wow my phone can do that?!" feeling. Shame really.
your phone is a quadcore 1.5ghz with a gig of ram running in 720p, it's pretty much on par with an average compo machine from 3 years ago.
Maybe so, but I've got games like shadow gun which look waaay more impressive than any of those demos. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but what I've seen just fails to impress.
okay, let me rephrase - what's the (artistic) challenge of working for a device that's only a few steps away from being a full computer but without the benefits thereof?
android sucks!

gargaj wins the thread.
also, aren't mobile devices get more ephemeral than any other platform?
Gargaj: the clock speed and resolution might be similar, but you'll find there's a *huge* difference in actual power between a modern smartphone and a 3 year old compo box.
6 year old compo box then
