Nordlicht! A new demoparty in Bremen, Germany (20.7.2012 - 22.7.2012)
category: parties [glöplog]
@v3nom
nice to see you want to come :)
regarding the tournament we havent quite planned a lot of it yet. What we basically have at the moment is an Amiga 500 plus SunSpires PC with a bunch of emulators and images.
So if you would like to help us out a bit with some vintage hardware and game-ideas its really appreciated.
I'd suggest you come visit us on IRC (#nordlicht/ircnet) so we can chat about it.

English for the rest: Moaning about the new Library magic in Ubuntu which is fucking up my binary magic :P

As wysiwtf pointed out, nothing has been decided for the retro gaming tournament yet. Concerning emulators, there are an awful lot of games and systems to choose from, feel free to throw in some suggestions!! Potential candidates so far COULD be Decathlon (C64), California and Summer Games (Amiga), International Karate + (Amiga), Gravity Force 2 (Amiga), Worms (PC) and Warblade (PC). But that is certainly not the end of the list ^^
Gamepads as well as USB Competition Pro Joysticks are available for PC and emulators. I do not have any working joysticks for original 80's hardware as of yet, but working on that!
Kabelmaulwurf:
I shall call you Linux Guru from now on, then ;)

Also Beat Em Ups such as King of Fighters, Street Fighter, Soul Calibur, Marvel vs Capcom ... you get the idea. I think there really is no lack of games and genres to choose from ^^
Apologies for the slightly messed up website layout. Ziphoid is roaming around in the US right now and I cannot fix it without ftp access! I don't even know what happened to it because it wasn't like that when I went to bed on wednesday.
Now would probably be a good time to grab your tickets, seeing how almost all tables have now been reserved but they are not actually yours until you got a ticket, so they're strictly going first-come first-serve, so hurry!!
Also I am quite overwhelmed by the amount of sceners storming the site recently, that's awesome. We're definitely off to a good start ^^

SENSIBLE WORLD OF SOCCER!!!
We're up to 46 people on the registration page, only 5 tables are left for grabs but 7 have been requested so far, that means whoever pays for their pc table ticket first will get one until they are gone!!
Also if we go over 50 registrations we'll have to reserve tickets to those who paid for them. Because of this IT IS NO LONGER POSSIBLE TO BUY TICKETS AT THE DOOR on friday night!!!
If you don't wish to use paypal you can also pay via bank transfer, get in touch with me for that! :)

stroker/c64 for retrocompo!
We've added a new compo machine to the party with the following specs:
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3,2 GHZ (hexa-core)
16 GB System Memory
Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti (4GB Video Memory)
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Hopefully this little beast will cater for all of your competition entries :)

oh, a slight error sneaked in there .. the 550 TI has 1 GB of video memory, but is still considerably faster than the ATI card from compo machine II. Plus people asked for nvidia so there you go .. and who knows, maybe someone will bring along an even better card. I think we are fairly well prepared at least ^^
Right, so I just got convinced *cough, thank you arvenius cough* to fuck deadlines and come anyway! Sunspire, bankshit makes me angry, so I'll pay at the door like a fucking VIP!
Havoc, ik wil gaerne wel met je meeliften dan.. als dat kan, anders wordt het lastig :D

And you are aware, that to a long-haired guy from Holland, staring for hours into a fire isn't that unusual at all, right? :-D
okkie, is goed! kzit nu nog in canada, dus laten we de precieze planning nog even uitstellen, maar ik hou er rekening mee dat je mee wil rijden die vrijdag :)
