I just failed my RHCE
category: offtopic [glöplog]
as in awesome in its original meaning :)
but we were talking in the context of you being "god"
: D
: D
maybe you just have read it backwards :D:D

Maybe I don't even belong here, I'm just not intelligent enough to write a demo - I just went to the Revision Party page, and had a look at the seminars, everyone's so far ahead of me.... :(
That's just bullshit. You put some music on, you put some stuff on the screen that moves and there you go - you got yourself a demo. You don't need to outdo the best groups in the scene, you just need to do stuff that you like. That's all there is to it, really...

You seem to be depressed quite a lot, so:
1) spend less time on things that make you feel bad
2) spend more time on things that make you feel nice (but stay away from drugs!)
3) PROFIT!
gods dont have to live up to expectations!
i thought that was what being a god was about.
I see symbolic illiteracy still reigns ... on all fronts.
never heard of the RHCE acronym before. Google tells me it's either Rhesus Blood Group, CcEe Antigens or Red Hat Certified Engineer.
I'll take it you failed the Reh Hat Certification test, cuz you can't really fail a blood group, right ?
So what's so bad in failing that test? Is there any company that require certified engineers? I mean, a good soft eng. is a good soft eng, be it certified or not, or maybe I'm missing something.
Also I don't believe in gods. Sorry Maali, from now on you no longer exist.

Never heard about RHCE either and I'm a happy camper. Dry your tears and move on! You don't need any RHCE, TWCS or IJMTU. Get your shit together and do stuff! Experiment, experiment, experiment!
Dust yourself off, get back on the horse & ride again.
You can't give up everytime life kicks you in the balls.

if at first you dont succeed
failure may be your style
failure may be your style
The mind is like an umbrella
it works best when it is open.
If it is any help, I think Red Hat sucks all kinds of donkey balls anyway -- I'd go for the LPIC if I were looking for a Linux certification.
Also what the rest of the friendly sceners write here: If you love it, you'll inadvertently eventually be good at it. If you don't love it, just don't bother and move on to something else.

I did suggest that to you bitnaughty - [ur=http://www.pouet.net/topic.php?which=8647&page=1&x=37&y=13#c401902]here.[/url]
It's good advice.
"stop whining!" /arnold
You guys are a crazy bunch :)
Thanks SO much for making me feel good, and laugh in the middle of adversity :)
And yeah, ringofyre, I know you said that, but I'm not sure that LPIC is available in my city, or even country.
RHCE is quite well known, and even that has dwindling student numbers... anyway, thanks for the tip.

When did Pouet turn into Reddit/4chan?
redhat users usually fail at demos
just seek comfort in the fact that in many alternative dimensions you DID get the RHCE

bitnaughty - register here and you'll find somewhere *kinda* nearby.
I took an exam once, for one of the novell modules. And failed it. By one fucking percent. Know what I did then? I went back, studied a lot more, practiced, and retook it. And failed again. By one fucking percent. Again.
And then they brought out a new version of the product, with a new exam and new books, and at that point I decided they could go fuck their exam. I was managing a pretty big network with this product successfully, qualified or not.
Looking back, I'm actually pretty happy that I failed that exam. If I'd passed it, at best nothing would be different except a few extra letters on my CV that nobody will ever care about. At worst, I would have been promoted or something, my life would have changed, and maybe I'd still be managing lots of PCs with that product - which is nowhere near as much fun or as what I've ended up doing :)
My advice: focus on what you really want to do in life, and spend your time on that. If you really want to be a red hat engineer go take the exam again. Otherwise, spend the time on something more important.

Lol, and then I thought I was the only one using this technique. I used to tell a friend that I imagine having a girlfriend in several other parallel universes, so I don't have to worry. Any girlfriend. Many girlfriends. Everything is possible in multiple dimensions :)
