i have lost my passport, and i think it is in the hall somewhere. please send me an email if anyone should find it. xerxes (at) xerxes-music.com - seriously freaking out right now :(
oh noessssss :/
As a hardcore antisocial sofascener who hates traveling, the Revision (and other big parties) stream is one of the highlights of the year.
I feel bad for the stream-team, who did an awesome job, but get little credit when things work flawlessly but lots of bitching when it doesn't.
You hard work is very much appreciated!
I just watched the pricegiving ceremony on ustream.tv, and at least for me, the quality is more than enough!
I don't need hidef stream, as long as I can see what's going on on the screen, hear the audio and most important of all the audience reactions, I'm happy.
Perhaps something for next year (and other parties) to consider instead of having to deal with setting up your own streaming servers?

At least as a backup, from the start. Hopefully I won't need to watch it.
Oh, and a note to all the inevitable "well, if you want to watch the compos, come to the party"-comments:
Sure, being there in person is probably the best, but why should that take away from the fact that people want it broadcasted?
What if the London Olympics had said, "Watching the games on TV? No, travel to our fine city and watch it in person instead!"
Would make no sense, having a broadcast is a great complement to the live-viewing, it broadens the interest and allows those who aren't there to share the experience.

To watch a few guys running around in circles and throwing shit around, jumping and what not?
When are the results online?
holy shit, the awesome guy at the hotel reception found my passport, so now i can go back to just having the regular post-party angst. once again, so much love and respect to dfox and his entire amazing crew for making revision rock this year again! to all of you who were involved with helping with the gig (kb, ace, ben etc..)..thank you so much! and to everyone who cheered us on during the concert.. you were so awesome! lots of great dancing, many good looking underpants :) see you all next year!
xrs: what a relief! nice one dude! :)
Steltek: I should clarify that I have no problems with the fact that things break -- things break all the time, and it's a damn shame when it happened this time -- but my issue is with the attitude (from non-crew, I should add) that "If you wanted to see the compos, you should have come to the party", because THAT ATTITUDE most certainly helps _nobody_.
Some of us also participated in the competitions and did our very best to try to attend but just couldn't. I understand that accidents happen and technology fails sometimes, but having the stream break during the PC democompo was a huge disappointment for me. Apparently we didn't miss much, but still...
i think i overheard that scenesat was broadcasting the beamer signal to ustream?
I don't feel having the right to complain about the streaming problems since I fuckin' missed the second revision as well as the first one. But those offline moments were increasing the pain of not being there, that's for sure. :/
Where were 2 emergency streams, but booth almost unwatchable. But hey, they tried. :)
Preacher: WAT? We fucking missed Variform 2 !!!!!!11
I was manning the broadcast with Ziphoid and the h0f during the compos, but my wonderful wife managed to record each individual entry on the mounted camera with a decent angle (away from the middle, though, which is good because people stood there, and knocked the shit out of the tables all the time.
So yeah, Thanks Sil^3ln :)
We've got another night or two in Saarbroken (...) so it will be a little while before I get videos up on the [url=http://youtube.com/user/demoscenem0d]YouTube[/ur] channel.

Revision 2012 Results including the AMAZING ASCII art of ne7!
We came, we saw, we broadcast. Well, the technical sides wasn't with us all the way, but we did what we could. To be honest, although we comment about that people should be at the party instead of just sitting at home, we're of course aware of the fact that not everyone can attend all the time. Heck, if all of you would, then why would we even need to be there trying to broadcast at all? We do this for YOU and also we do it for US, since we love the scene and all around it. We wouldn't have been able to do anything without the help from other sceners as well, but since we're all doing this on an almost non-existing budget, problems can and will occur. I can at least promise in the name of SceneSat that we really do everything we can to bring the scene to your homes if you can't attend the parties in person.
Oh, and I seriously doubt that anyone who actually COULD attend a party would rather stay at home with the view "meh, the stream is better" and not of any other reason. ...but we'll still continue to bug you about getting your butts TO the party since you are definitely missing out by not being at them. :)
Once again, sorry for the b0rk-ups, but we at least did what we could - and we will continue doing so in the future! B0rk up, that is. Or not.
I did have a splendid time at the party and it was amazingly excellent to get to meet all good old friends and make a bunch of new ones as well!

Thanks for your efforts Revision and Scenesat, llike I said it was mostly awesome, shit happens, and next year I hope to be present at the party :)
Was a good broadcast even with the unstable stream, peeps should just chill out and accept it might not work, the stream is never going to be a substitute for watching the demos after or at the party itself anyway! Mega props to scenesat massive!
Actually it would be a bad sign if no one would bitch about the failing streams. Because it would be the sign, that no one gives a fuck - and demoscene actually IS dead.
while there might have been problems for you, i was amazed how quickly the prods were uploaded and even youtubed. no need for a stream for me.
@gaspode: just a random image from an image host. there appeared pictures that were definately from revision, hence my premature conclusion. btw, is that stop motion or cgi in your entry? ;)
