Unknown Amiga music - HELP!
category: music [glöplog]
I found a cool Amiga music I had recorded on an old tape, from circa 1992. Can anyone recognize it, where is it from, game/demo, author? I'd really love to find it in an electronic form (MOD/MED/Octalyser/whatever)... Please help!

conversion from an oktalyzer demosong

Oh man, I recognise this music, let me see if I can find what it is
that would probably be the oktalyzer demosong 1 :)

(there's an mp3/ogg available at SOAMC, http://fonix.dyndns.org:40000/soamc/index.php?sb=SOAMC&ss=demosong1)
I'm wondering where I heard it before, I never used Oktalyzer
Nice memories. I remember the original tune. It was longer and was one of the few demosongs in the Oktalyzer disk.
I don't know who did it.
I don't know who did it.
If I remember correctly, the tune was composed by 'T.A.R'. They also did some muzaxx for the D-Tect HackMags (which ruled a lot).
Oh :) <3
xyz: Thanks for the info!
Thanks for the info? Is there any chance to get the latest version 1.57? Because the link reed posted is for a -I think- version from Okralyzer 1.1. And that one on my recording is longer, with different first note (!). I spent a whole weekend searching, but I wasn't able to google ANY Oktalyzer version, only that demosong 1 from version 1.1 (which is shorter, as I wrote) :(
you could've just asked instead of spending a whole weekend on it ;)

btw, 1.57 only seems to include demosong 2, but 1.53 appears to have demosong 1 as well.
i didn't actually try to load the song into any version of oktalyzer. the different first note in the SOAMC mp3 sounds like a playback screw-up, because the echo of the first note is indeed the correct note. you get the same error if you search for the tune on modland, click on "Show ogg/mp3 recording links" and download the mp3/ogg. i'm not sure which player exotica uses for the modland recordings.
good luck :)

omg, thx a lot!
I hope Factor6 doesn't mind that I'm piggybacking on his topic. Since I almost have the same type of question and creating a new "Another Amiga music - HELP too!" topic would sound a bit lame.
I'm searching for some weeks for the Amiga demo that has used this MOD (which I also had recorded on an old tape only):
Amiga - Unknown Demo Music 2.mp3 (1 minute fragment)
I guess the demo was around 1990, probably by Red Sector or Rebels. But I could be totally wrong in this one. I tried an audio fingerprint lookup like MusicBrainz Picard, but of no avail :-(

Damn, I got both the year and group wrong. Nevertheless muchos thanx for the quick answer, hitchhikr (within an hour, nice!).
Oh, by the way: 4mat rulez! (The soundtrack I searched for turned out to be of his hand, one of his best).
