@party news thread

category: parties [glöplog]
I'm interested to see what it's like being in the city, though sad to have missed the boarding house thing it was in before. Now the MBTA just has to be bribed to get the bloody T running past midnight ;)

if you are physically capable of riding a bicycle, you don't need the MBTA. : D

Also, you could always find a hotel or whatever near the party place and walk. Or Segway. Or whatever.

I will actually investigate lodging info and post about it, as soon as we're solid. Which I hope will be soon.
@party Minidemo Deux a success!

So the second Montréal party went well. We had eight entries (and around 30 attendees, 13 during the day).
Among the attendees at the demoshow were two organizers of NAID, Mr Khan and Med! Pictures and prods (well, one is posted) to come soon.
Thank you to all who attended and submitted, and thanks to RPM, who rented us space.

News about @party 2012 venue hopefully coming soon, along with ticket sales . . .
Oh yeah, and many thanks go to my friend René Walling, who provided the prizes, a Nintendo 64 (which went to Québarium, the 1st place winners), a Sun Sparc (which went to Madbrain tied for 2nd place), and a variety of SCSI hard drives and CD-ROM drives, which went to other winners.
p.s. Thanks to PsychNerd of SceneSat for covering us! You can hear their coverage on their website! http://scenesat.com/relive

I think Germany will take it home this time. Poland team suck ass but there are
4 polish players on German team so it's a win-win situation.

Airplane tickets are really reasonable right now, btw.

Just checked prices on Skyscanner, and (even leaving out Air France) there are tickets from Amsterdam are in the ~400-600 euro range, Frankfurt ~500-600, Göteborg about the same as Frankfurt. Tis the time to hop it . . .

The 2012 partyplace is only four miles from Logan International airport
ten minute walk from a Red Line subway station
variety of nearby food options
near Downtown Boston and its tourist attractions as well as the harbor cruises
you've got mail...

which I've replied to with much glee. : D

THE AWESOME
I like the ten minute walk from South Station/Red Line (Amtrak). I think I will go to this.
why would you leave out air france?
added on the 2012-01-23 19:01:09 by havoc havoc
because people told me air france is awful. I mean, I'd take it flying myself, but then I'd also stay in a youth hostel. Some people have higher standards than me.
and yay luis!
Ok, is there *ANY* hotel in the greater boston area that will not charge you over $250/night ? checked hotels.com and even priceline.com - even sloppy motels advertise at $125/night.

Making it a week vacation giving me a hotel bill of over 2000 euro immediately kills this plan right before it even started.
