how would you define "digital culture"?

Computer animation? That's been done since, what, the 60s? Search through the BBS, there's a bunch of threads with ancient videos along the lines of "is this the first demo".

Scene is dead. Therefore it's not existent.

Software piracy, computer music culture and what psonice said. Yeah, you are right. Older but pretty related with the scene though.

And definitionOf(digital+culture) = definitionOf(digital)+definitionOf(culture)

self-proclaimed hacker-culture, although its more a cult with long bearded gurus. demoscene is not just a digital culture, its part of the digital culture, if you want to put it that way, seeing it overlaps with other parts. hell, the first propgrammers were true master of size coding.

Gargaj: I haven't read your post before. The answer is: Yes, sorry. I hate when people simply asks for definitions.

Danguafer: in that case, your answer is "yes or no."

Etymologically, "digital" means "with the fingers". So I'm with okkie, the oldest digital culture is porn.

I don't agree with whatever Maali will say, and suggest to post Carebears pictures instead

Yes. Keep repeating something to yourself that you've been told several times is incorrect seems to be the right way to take feedback.

I'd give masturbation in and of itself credit. Porn's just a platform.

gloom: I was talking about popular culture that time. And, again, I won't define it. :(
