Ps1 / PS2 demos
category: general [glöplog]
Hi,
What is the best way to get ps1 and ps2 demos running on a real ps2 (scph-79003)? I'm rather confused at all the options available!
I've seen a number of possible solutions, and am not sure which one would work for both ps1 and ps2 disks, or whether I need a combination.
1 - get it chipped - but I dont know who does it in norwich/uk - a few places online say they no longer do this because its illegal
2 - splatter the sensors with electrical tape / bits of tissue paper etc, then swap the disk while its spinning.
3 - swap magic + the "magic switch".
4 - a memor32 card (probably with memento or free mcboot) - would either of these work? (have seen youtube vids showing just the card inserted, and loading a backup game), oh - and I have seen that theres a problem with some new PS2 bioses...)
5 - use an emulator on my pc!
Why on earth does it have to be so hard??
Any other ideas?

i think there was a way to have an external usb disk working on the ps2.. not sure if it needs to be chipped to handle that though.
Q.: Why on earth does it have to be so hard??
A.: ask geohotz.

wrong console...
Lately i wanted exactly the same and after some search ended up on this.
Personally I'm using the PS1 gamesave exploit.... no chip required, no swap, nothing to kill my ps2 :)
