Android 3d cook book.
category: offtopic [glöplog]
Heya all,
I was fooling around with one of my first OpenGL projects some week or so ago and was wondering if it was any use one day. So I came up with an idea of '3d cook book' (yea name sucks, as graphics too if I have to do them). But it's a simple 'book' renderer only so far.
Anyway, I was wondering about some kind of a collaboration project which could be hosted on GitHub for example. I mean there's no reason to use static textures, as in my example application, but we could try something with texture rendering instead. This would make it possible for interested parties participate with 'pages'. Maybe some book-like textual information too if you feel like educating people.
And one day it could be published to Android market for free. So, if you want to take a look what I've been working on so far, you can find it here;

Anyway, it's most definite fact I can't do this by myself, gathering some old effects for example took me a year at least. So was wondering this might turn into a combined educational and visual experience if more people were involved. And well, guess it might be better if someone else took the lead - given I'm not speaking here alone :)

Looks like a good start for an educational app to teach rolling spliffs.
What is your goal with this? It seems almost finished, except for the content.

Hmm.. While this belongs to shoutbox, have to leave this oneliner here. I mean did you know about the background of Melon Dezigns 'How 2 Skin a Cat'? Check riftcon's comment on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=GB&hl=en-GB&v=UAnDUGfK7QM . Pretty 'scary' stuff I have to admit.

i'm still wondering about gathering many of the "oldschool" effects into shareable form for future generations. so around x-mas i rewrote a 2d "fake" page curl for making something book alike. this time using opengl 2.0 es shaders etc in a hope it turned out a bit more optimized. but the main problem remains, i really have no idea how to continue from here.

yes, pls take a 3d api and fake a 3d effect in 2d. that sounds smart!
