kb_: what you could become is an official demoscener that handles out demoscene diplomas to real demosceners, thats what you do anyway so why not just try to get paid too?

anyway, I do happen to know alot of ppl in the software and game-industry. And the only ones I heard complaining about piracy is thoose who make avarage or bad games that nobody wants. Makes me think of certain big mainstream labels that only release crap-artists who cry plek the fucking Rhine river about illegal downloads. Ever thought about why Blizzard makes funny references to cracking and warezgroups in World of warcraft or DICE put names of releasegroups in textures on buildings and containers in Battlefield? They dont seem to be really botherd by piracy...

Havoc: So why do people support "thieves" by eg. coding cracktros and making logos and then act surprised when those thieves steal from the "wrong" sources?

(btw, normally I'm very consciously avoiding terms like "steal" and "IP" when it comes to copyright, but as these words are used in this "discussion" anyway...)

You always seemed more likely to smoke crack, so no argument there.

Fairlight as an example dont crack, they just dump the VM and RARs it. but since their members (ex-razors most of them) aint as easy to flame you prefer ranting on razor dont you.
