Crinkler & shaders: how to achieve the best compression ratio?
category: code [glöplog]
i stay with hand-optimizing ;)
not a bad idea to have a tool, but i like to be able to still read what i did at a later point of time!
its a job of like an hour to do it by hand! and you do it only once AFTER your intro looks good already!

the advantage of tool is that you can do this hardwork unlimited amount of times, with no effort at all)
you can work with human-readable code, write your shader, and when you need to get a clue about filesize, use shader minifier, and then zip/rar (or compile the intro with crinkler)
and your code stays the same, no need to obfuscate it
at the final stage you can ofcourse do that hardcore optimization by hand. Or with the tool. Or both

unc: oops, sorry, I took the party version.
With the final version of Cdak, it saves 11 bytes (using default settings of Shader Minifier).

that means... all the optimization fuckery... for nothing...
But this is good, because next time no need to do it by hand=) i better learn now to work with shaderminifier efficiently
thank you for this nice tool!

Who is moderating pouet.net nowadays? Please state names and church.
you mean use divine intervention to make shaders smaller? that sounds great, actually!
I demand a tool that makes ugly and small shaders look impressive!

Pouet? Moderated?
Be less specific, use a generic label and then think up appropriate functionality! I suggest [hund].
While making kkrieger, we had lots of half-implemented functionality in Wz3 that would crash the tool if used inappropriately (stuff like Ops that would crash if connected the wrong way and things like that). Of course fiver, giZMo and wayfinder would run into those crashes frequently, complain, and chaos and me got annoyed about it at some point ("why are you doing this! we told you not to do it!"). at that point we thought about adding a button labeled "reactor meltdown" to the toolbar that would instantly crash wz3. just so we could tell off people: "why the hell would you press a button that says 'reactor meltdown'?". luckily, we cooled down soon after and never implemented this :)
