Demoscene self-exposure
category: general [glöplog]
i think thom said it all. trees are the best.
there are way too many hangarounds, there is no question about that. go do something, create something, start something. don't just jump around and call yourself a scener and start listing facts about demos you've seen.
if you want to be a demoscener - create demos.
if you want to be a demoscener - create demos.
dominei: you just need a big hug
quisten: me..but I'm just a hangaround :)
perhaps i should clarify that it is sufficiant to create music or graphics or 3d or code - you don't need to embark on a statix-like one-man-only-demo to be a demoscener. :)
How about writing posts on the pouet bbs and/or getting drunk on demoparties?

everything i wanna answer to this will rudely offend you.. so i wisely shut my mouth...
Noooooooooooooo, go okkie!!!!! :)
This is what the demoscene is all about.
Where Plek starts, discussion ends.
eye, well. it _is_ what the demoscene is all about.
Perfect example plek, this is a typical hangaround who thinks that the demoscene is all about self-expourse...
And I can't spell, self-exposure that is :-)
yeah... paavi/iso is some lame no-body hangaround who's never, like, released anything....
ux: he's a hangaround none the less. or at least on this specific picture.
Diamondie seems to be having fun too (but who wouldn't, wearing a shirt like that.. :))

Are you really sure its me, who is going to be offended? ;-)
stelthz, you suck.
I feel victorious if that is your only reply..
people are exposing themselves here. did I mention SE is nice? :)
is he licking cum off his body? who in the heck has erections like that and Powerful Whew !!
I'm a hangaround. I've never made a demo. I've sure played around with the trackers, and I've played around with a little code. But I've never released anything, I've never been to a demoparty.
Perhaps I would have gotten more into things if I lived in the UK or something, but I live in Rhode Island, USA. Not exactly a hot spot for "the scene." As much as I've love to, I can't really afford the $1000 round trip plane ride to Assembly.
I don't think of myself as a "scener" and quite frankly I think the label is kinda stupid, but I guess you gotta call it something. But I HAVE enjoyed watching all the demo releases over the past decade+. It motivated me to learn more about my computer, even if it wasn't in a "scene" kind of way - now I work with computers and I have a great career. And I thank the demo scene for that.
Pushing people away because they don't make demos is pretty lame. The more people the better, and even if a small percentage of folks actually get involved, that's still a great thing. Demos are a fantastic show of talent and teamwork, and I don't want that to ever die.

cbreaker: thats one of the only valuable posts on this thread. Save some money and come to breakpoint 2005 or assembly 2005. You have to experience it atleast once in your life ;-)
