Bitfilm Festival introduces 64k Compo
category: general [glöplog]
The film-festival taking place from November 3rd to 7th in the "Mandarin-Kasino" in Hamburg is the first of its kind to include productions of dubbed 64K demos.
Differently from traditional demoparty competitions, 64k demos may have been released before and don't need to be exclusively produced for the festival.
Your contribution can be submitted until July 15th at http://www.bitfilm-festival.org/. The festival is actively supported by various demosceners and of course by the Digitale Kultur e.V..

This reminds me somewhat of the upcoming Bit Banger's Ball, only this has much more "concrete" information. :-)

As one of the "actively supporting" demosceners I can only say: Hey, if you have 64Ks which are let's say not older than two years, just submit them. Thats fun and wider audiences are always good ;)
Everyone, fire up your Werkkzeug and let's go =)
1500 euro's prize!
Wow, werkzeug is goin to get busy! ;)

hehe, chaos and kb are, again, promoting their work on television (tide, a hamburg tv-station, broadcast about bitfilmfestival), and (try to) explain the demoscene to the consumerfolks (the moderator still seems to be confused :)
seems like they got plenty of sponsors, 1500 seems like alot.

oh great! now we even have festivals that anyone can release their old stuff again and again and again! true spirit! yeah!
This calls for a Rob is Jarig 64k makeover
Interesting -- a non-scene jury determining the best 64k made since 2002. :-) FWIW, I've sent in Nemesis, but I doubt it will stand a chance against what the others here are sending in ;-)
As their website states, the Bitfilm Festival will have public voting, not a jury.
So I guess the festival audience will simply vote for what they think looks best - maybe not even for the technically most impressive work that is and most likely not for the one with most scene - spirit in it.
Execpt of course you go to Hamburg yourself and take your chance to vote for the real l33t stuff ;)
