People should have realized by now that scamp != the easter party and the easter party != scamp.

Got that right! :)

Sauli is so far the only one to treat this thread with no more and no less than the dignity it deserves.

he doesn't have an aggression problem.

yes he does.

Quote:
you don't know how much stress it is to be the main organizer of such an effing huge and successful party.

yes i do.

Quote:
the pressure to always be awesome is extremely high and i'm sure most people would snap at small "problems" like those if they had to deal with so much stress at once.

knowing how to handle pressure is a requirement if you undertake a high-pressure activity.

Quote:
also as already mentioned before, "snapping" at all and everything that comes up helps you to get through and handle situations like the burglary on the parking lot.

what? no it doesn't. snapping at "all and everything" is a dysfunction. it shows that you took too much pressure: distribute it more. maybe scamp tends to take everything on his own shoulders and does not delegate enough.

also, his handling of the situation was just bad. he didn't even ask me who i am. wouldn't that be the natural question to ask if you see someone do something that you consider "privileged"?

also, as i said, an apology would have been appropriate. because i did not do anything wrong, no matter from what angle you look at it. yet he yelled at me and made me feel bad.

apologizing also does not increase the pressure on him. actually it reduces the pressure for everyone and restores the balance. had he done that, i would have said "it's ok" and forget about it. but he didn't, and so he has to live with me considering him a needlessly aggressive person.

well i'm sorry, but i don't know you (while everyone seems to know scamp). which party did/do you organize?

Quote:

that's why i put "snapping" into speech marks.

you do have a point there, but people tend to lose their patience if something like this happens too often. there's a reason for the "stay out" signs. ;) maybe we should have put a "don't feed the main organizer!" sign there as well.

Quote:
also, as i said, an apology would have been appropriate.

never said anything contrary.

Quote:
apologizing also does not increase the pressure on him.

well, for some people it does. don't forget most of us are nerds, kinda, and a lot of nerds have trouble with being social. ;)

Quote:
actually it reduces the pressure for everyone and restores the balance.

knowing that you might also know that you could just forgive him as well. he probably just forgot about saying sorry due to everything else that was going on, and it wasn't anything personal, yet YOU didn't forget it and now that makes you sound kinda bitter and resentful. forgiving him will restore YOUR balance as well you know :P (uh, that sounded kinda esoteric)
oh and while you're at it, forgive me as well for butting in. i consider scamp a friend and didn't like the thought of just watching.

getting back to the topic, i can't wait to be a part of this gotta-be-awesome german party. :)

vibrator: So what, yes, I'm very vocal, and often use a harsh tone etc blabla. Some people are offended, and those people who know me better know that my message more often than not is right, and even while I often step on peoples feet, in general ppl profit from what I do. And no, I have no clue what you are talking about in regards of your BP experiment. Yes, during Breakpoint I used to step onto a lot of peoples feet from time to time while trying to do good. Also, quite often when I'm in flame mode, innocent bystanders are hurt. All right, but my believe is that in general I'm giving compensation for being a dick sometimes.

(And thanks to the bunch of friends in here who have spoken out on this here, highly appreciated).

That being said:

GODDAMNIT: I organized that fucking party for a fucking 8 years, gave tons of my own time, energy and money, had lots of fun building it up, learning by doing mistakes. My life is deeply connected to the scene, the scene has been the single most important influence in my life. It was damn hard to let Breakpoint go. What the FUCK is so hard about understanding that if now some lame fucking german online magazines tells "the public" (I know not many people read that crappy side) that I've passed over Breakpoint to Eastergarden I'm in the position to start a flamewar, be completely unreasonable, and wildly shoot around me towards anyone related to that topic? I do not have to care if Bobic is a stupid retard on his own (and if you are reading: FUCK YOU that your main website page still reads "Eastergarden - the heritage of Breakpoint?" after multiple people told you to remove this) or if had been led to writing such a pile of crap after getting disinformed by the EG team.

I think a few people in here are missing the POINT of flaming. If I use the term "stinking freezing shed" on a party I have next to no information on, it's OBVIOUSLY not a party report based on facts and years of statistical analysis, but a FLAME. And if - as Dodge has correctly pointed out - the background knowledge exists that *I* actually organized a demoparty called BP in a stinking freezing shed, one could guess that this is a flame.

So, for those who do not like flames: The message I want to be taken seriously is: "Make sure Breakpoint will be remembered as it was, make sure that noone unrelated tries to take credit or fame of the work the BP team has done. I think both the BP team and me deserve this respect.".

For those who do like flames, and/or know me for more than 10 seconds: Thanks, I guess you already understood me on my first post :)

Saarbrücken? What airport should I buy my tickets for? Is it a 4 or 3 days party?

bonus bonus bonus:

If someone in here really can't stand my style, please go to google translate, select as source language "scamp", then select as target language "human", and "you fucking cunt, I will kill everyone you have ever met" will magically translate to "yes dear, I'd like another cup of coffee".

xernobyl: I would not recommend booking yet. It's pretty much the same as it has been with Breakpoint in the past, as far as I can tell: Orgas don't announce the party yet even if they are 99% sure it will take place, but only do so once all most important contracts are signed. This is so no-one ends with bought tickets he can not use.

That being said: Both Frankfurt and Hahn will be fine. My expectations would be that travel plans for Easter 2011 won't have to be any different than the ones for Breakpoint in the past when it comes to recommended airports and arrival/departure times.

But if you want something official: Please just wait until these guys are ready. And now I'm shutting up on this part of the topic. Please allow the new team to focus on preparing things, no matter how curious everyone including me what Easter 2011 in Germany might look like is.
