ASSEMBLY Summer 2010
category: parties [glöplog]
Abyss: I would like to second Trixter's request for the seminar videos.
Just for Trixter's sake, of course.
Personally, I couldn't care less about interesting talks about all sorts of things loosely connected to the demoscene.

So, how long one has to wait for Oldskool status for the tickets? :)
Sagacity, we do our best to get the vids online, but won't guarantee it. Volunteers tend to favor sleep after the party and things can just fizzle away.
Qmotvs: between 1 minute and an eternity, depending when I remember to check the queue. Which should happen again in a moment.

A (rather urgent) question:
it is my assumption that speakers will be allocated a ticket, at least this is implied in the mails we got.
Does that ticket entitle us to an oldskool place (preferably with an ethernet connection for our laptop)? Will there be Wi-Fi in the arena?

Navis, yes, seminar speakers do get free tickets. Those tickets are entry tickets i.e. they don't guarantee a computer place, but if somebody needs a place to work at, I'm sure we can sort it out. I'll drop you an email about this.
There is wireless, mostly in the 1st floor corridors.

Hi, is there anyone willing to submit my entry(ies) (1 or 2, not sure yet)? I'm not able to come to Helsinki this year (again :(). I hope, this is the right place to ask.
vtech, you could also try oldskool-list@assembly.org which goes to everyone approved for a demoscene ticket. If you aren't yet a member on the list, go here to subscribe
http://justiina.assembly.org/mailman/listinfo/oldskool-list
Do note that we will hand out any prizes won to your representative, so make sure you trust him.

Abyss: Thank you for the hint. I'll subscribe.
abyss: For how long is the subscription "being held for approval"? I didn't get any email. I've mailed the list and also without any feedback (no error, ne reply).
vtech: Assuming you're Vit Kavan, your email did come through to the list this afternoon.
Approvals happen as soon as I get around to the emails, which are from 1 minute to few hours (like in your case). Sorry about that, it's pretty busy just before ASM.
In preparation for ASM TV, I decided to smarten up: had enough time to get either a haircut or a new suit, but not both. Got the suit. Hairstyle's like a scruffy paedophile. Ah well, you can't have it all.
See you all at the partyplace! \o/

Ran out of time for the ASM-demo :/
gloom: are you coming?
gloom, that's too bad! It only means you need to do a demo, and a 4k as a penance next year.
A friend of mine is going to do an Assembly-report for MoonTV and as I haven't visited the party since 1995 I'm not the best person to give instructions. He is filming on saturday and a bit interested on getting some material from the Boozembly as well. I bet there's some good boozembly-action still on saturday, but what is the exact location for it nowadays?
I know it's a pain in the ass, but could the names of the demos shown in Assembly TV be announced at the end of each demo? So that we can find them and stuff?
daFred, saturday is the best for bzm action.
will try to watch the stream, when i got time :)
I feel fucking horrible for not being there. Note to self for later.
:( I was looking forward to see some of the seminars... but the seminar link at:
http://www.assemblytv.org/pages/broadcast
directs you to the normal tv stream. My guess is that the correct link is rtsp://stream1.asm.fi/live/sem1024.sdp but that one is blank atm.

\o/ we have a picture
Is it possible to stream / download previous seminars?
Finland is utc +2, right? It's probably been mentioned somewhere else, but the sentence "The times are in Finnish time (UTC +3, EET DST)." got me confused for a little while. (http://www.assemblytv.org/pages/broadcast)
It's currently UTC +3 as it's summer (hence DST).
