Usage of other peoples tools

And it is good that it changed! I started watching demos about 6 months ago, and most demos I managed to see that were made before 1995 look like some boring scrolling text with a few simple effects to me. After that it gets better, but all my favorite demos were made within 2000-2004.
Yes, this Werkzeug will not change everything. It is important to remember that most visual designers do not use tools they wrote themselves, but were written by group members! So I wonder why this "do not use other people's tools" point keeps popping up in these discussions. If the coder of the tool decides to release it, then anything made with it, will simply be a coproduction between the coder, chaos^fr in this case, and whoever uses it.

hitchhikr: we included MiniFMOD into the Werkkzeug before the release for the sole fact that people might want to do intros with it and I'm too mean to give those ppl my synth ;)
The other way of course would be asking me. I'm just not in the mood to release the synth yet. Maybe this will come, time will tell. Until then drop me a mail if you're REALLY intending to do an intro.

Cooprod ? Sounds really funny. The competition about Fr vs Fr :)))))
Well, as I feared, the discussion has a spotlight on the werkkzeug, which wasn't my intention.
Anyway, I see nothing wrong with using tools as I pointed out, and I really don't think it will be a big problem with all the tools suddenly popping up. There will probably be more releases from now on, something I think is really good.
I for one have gotten a lot more motivation, now I'm even more determent to do a really really good tool, and later a really really good production. ;)

kb_: that was clear from the start but xm files take some size and their compression ratio isn't the most accurate one (you know that, of course) and no i'm not really interested by your synth (for obvious reasons) . Since i haven't seen dierk's seminar i was only interested to see how the capabilities of the engine were implemented in a coherent interface (the stacking idea was obvious but it's well done here, congrats for this) but of course, i can drop you a mail for any other reasons. :)
