.werkkzeug1 by .theprodukkt released

category: general [glöplog]
eww.. doesn't work with my pc :-(
nice to have it released actually, makes you sort of get this "aah so THAT'S how they did it"-feeling.
on the other hand i tried it and i think one would need a seriously "calibrated" mindstate for this to actually use the thing to create a demo/intro so I don't fear a "werkkzeug-invasion".

I'm not a coder, but word up for rainmaker, yes :)
While you guys fear the forthcoming .werkkzeug1 invasion, I look forward to the ".werkkzeug2" stuff that's bound to come from fr..on..let's say..asm? :)
now there is a demotool category!

and sorry for all the dupes :-)

Hm, I have the same "nothing being rendered except the gui" problem as kusma. (WinXP, Radeon9500, etc)

yeah, very nice. respect!

but i think 64kb intros from other groups than fr/theprodukt made with the werkzeug should be disqualified (even if they are really good) in compos on demopartys, because it's not that difficult and hard to use a tool.

Dominei:

They are already using .werkkzeug3 :)

giZmo: yep, i figured it out last night... the bonus-section in the tutorial didn't say anything about it, so i figured something was wrong, but hey, i was just too lazy to read through the tutorial :P

anyway, nice tool, however it seems to have some designflaws. but then again, it's just a tool and i guess there's a reason why you don't use it anymore... ;)

cool
las: don't you think it would be even easier for fr to use their own tool? so shouldn't they be disqualified too? </silly argument>

Actually I always wanted to get my hands on it, but now that you released it I don't think I'm gonna use it... Strange...
I hope people are not flooding the compos with stuff made with the werkkzeug...
Thank you anyways for releasing it.

doesn't matter, the synth was not released, and with minifmod and xms every intro made with the released wz1 is handicapped compared to farbrausch released ones (compressed xm: ~10-30k (chipmusic \o/)+player, and iirc fr08 had 16k for player and music with much better quality ;)

I hope the overhype of tools will be set back a bit now, and people realize that there exists no tool with 'make cool' button.
added on the 2004-06-16 14:25:13 by zoom zoom
but atleast, people can finally see that we actually DO have a "make demo" button, not just in a metaphorical sense. :)

wicked, on the one hand, they let the masses catch up a bit, on the other, they're already 2 steps ahead, so leadership is not endangered =)
I think this will bring competition! thanks!

*ehm*

For me, the release of such tools (not just this one) is always interesting, so that I can see what other people are up to. However, I don't really want to use other people's tools because "mine is better". This may not be necessarily true, of course, but that's my mindset anyway.

And where's the fun in using other people's tools, too? :)

Oh, and please note that this is from a coder's point of view. I don't care what those designer hippies think, with their "alternative clothing" and whatnot.

it's a good news for newbies, they can start with a tool and be more creative after. new blood in demoscene soon i hope !
