What are your thoughts on it?
I hope the screen is better than the one on the FUJI W1, which works on a similar way. In terms of HW power it looks like it's based on a nvidia tegra chip.

It does look pretty neat.
dunno...I think people will be surprised with some pretty "low" specs...
I mean really, they just exchanged one screen, added a button, a joystick, a camera, and slightly modified the video encoder to handle the new LCD type.
Other than that, i'm betting it's just a die shrink/clock increase of older hardware.

Screenshots show at least bilenear filtering. You can't do that just by changing the clock speed... well you could have a 2GHz software rendering engine, but that's not very practical.
I would say that most screenshots look better than Wii. Which is nice from them. Maybe they've stoped using the cheapest hardware they could find.

I wonder how cameras will take to it for it being projected on big screens

think about how it works: it's simply two images interleaved every pixel in on the x axis. The screen is designed such that it blocks each eye from seeing one of the available images.
ie outputting the video without conversion to any other screen will just yield a stupid-looking interleaved image.
p.s. i forgot to add it also apparently has some type of accelerometer ;p

I think you should choose effects over 3DS.
Really looking forward to testing one of these.

Looks like fun, but it'll be down to how well the screen works I reckon.

It's very clearly totally new hardware inside the case - worst case it's perhaps the same CPU but with a new GPU added (might make sense for backwards compatibility, but it's more likely a faster CPU too). Half framerate DS graphics would suck balls ;)
An educated guest would point to a 600MHz dual-core ARM11.
I would say that those descriptions are quite on par with what I felt :D

It was a bit further away from my face then it typically would be when playing. The impact was horrendous. It felt like I had gone permanently cross eyed. It made my stomach flop slightly and my eyes quickly tried to correct what they were seeing. I used the slider on the face of the 3DS to turn the 3D down but it didn't help. They I tried moving the 3DS slightly closer and suddenly the game's images synched and the world was amazingly deep.
I tried putting the screen even closer to my face, moving it way too close and the image went double again. Tilting the 3DS or moving it to either side made the image fuzzy.
There is, I learned, a 3D sweet-spot for the 3DS, a bubble in which the image is perfect and deep. Outside the bubble things go wrong.

This does sound interesting, but being the first 3D thing after Virtual Boy, which was not really successful, I think it would be very limited, like pointed out above. They will probably perfect it in later version. But curious to try out, of course!
The 3D thing can be corrected though if optionally you could use glasses!
It cannot be corrected. What you correct with the slider is the separation between the 2 game cameras I think. Not the device phisically.
It's great - it'll make the original DS much cheaper!
Sounds like the the old 'rippled glass screen' thing where each column of pixels has the glass angled towards your left or right eye. There used to be a ton of 3d or animated stickers like that back in the 80s. If it's high enough res, it could be cool... but yeah, it'll only work head-on and only from a certain distance. You can probably forget the good old days of watching over somebody's shoulder while they play ;)
I think there are technologies that can 'fix' this, like microlenses and such. I doubt they're anywhere near practical or affordable though.
