The 90's vs. the 00's, which produced the greater underground talent?
category: general [glöplog]
I'm trying hard not to offend anyone here with the way I word my topics, but I am curious as to the general answer to the aforementioned question. Between the roster of the 90's and that of the most recent decade, which would you say showcased the more talented :
- Programmers
- Artists
- Musicians
On a scale of originality, creativity and general quality?

I don't think either has 'better' talent, just different.
Good answer. However, if you had a preference, which would it be?
DISCUSS!!!!
70% coders sucks
50% gfxartists sucks
30% musicians sucks
after 1999.

While I'm not sure what the history of Care Bear images on this board might be, I have to admit I find them pretty funny.
To mutch microsoft shit. AMIIIGA RULES!!!!!!!
Stay Atari.
haha...
Well, 1999 would probably have been the final nail into MS-DOS' coffin. I wonder if the death of MS-DOS would have been the death of the quality demo Boulder. What do you think?
hehe. cool image.

My two cents : general quality of demos got greater in time... Not only because hardware evolved, but coding techniques too... I have 'Edge of Disgrace' from Booze Design in mind, there are certainly many more examples. '.the.produkkt' from Farbrausch in 2000 was pure kickass, and last year we had 'Elevated' by TBC & RGBA which was mindblowing. I'm gonna stop before I get boring, but I always feel a little chill in my spine when I watch a good demo.
Slimer, your last comment gave me a bad idea : What about a 'no-GPU' compo ? What ? Wrong thread ?
Ke faen! is ms-dos, pc10 or 20?
Alright, this thread is off to a great start. To be honest guys, I haven't really been able to see any demos over the past few years so my presence on this board is an effort to renew my interest in something I used to love. I'm glad to have some of few name a couple of productions to check out. I'll download and appreciate them in due time.
Are there any other recommendations to make in terms of demos to download?

Start with this one.
Thanks! :)
In the worst of all cases, simply watch them on Youtube. There are a lot of them. I wouldn't say all of them, but a lot. Just go in the 'Prods' section, grab a few demos' names or even demogroups' names, search on Youtube, and voila !
I'll do that actually. What search term do I use on youtube to find the largest amount of results?
@Defiance : LOL !
I just realized that 'No remorse' from Jumalauta is not on Youtube ! :(
Wait a minute... I suddenly remember there is 'The demotube' on Youtube, which holds a bunch of demos... Shame on me for not recalling it earlier. :/
