Stop bitching around...

Anyone without severe autism would disagree.
Sorry, I didn't want to say I want to be in Solo2's condition or that I prefer it. It's more to say that sometimes people who are conscious about being not so "normal" yet they have negative feelings about it would sometimes wish (and ironically laugh about it) they were truly living in their own weird world, instead of jumping back and forth, doing their own thing, then regretting for not doing what the "normal" people do, then back again.
Even for my regular demos (not the Otinanum), I wish negative comments wouldn't hurt me (I don't care about thumbs down, I care about comments feeling hostile to me, but that also depends on how someone views hostile). When people releasing crap can manage being stable and not care about attacks, I'd wish it would be the same for me. But it isn't. And even joke group prods like Otinanum, it didn't worked, I was still hurt..
A small heads-up, Solo2 has not been Hermann Samso for like a year now.
bitching about ppl bitching is the new bitching!
Yawn, I'm hungry.
Optimus Knight: you really shouldn't take it too harshly. If everyone felt like giving up every time their demo got thumbed down, we wouldn't have a demoscene.
The worst ones are the ones where they don't like the style. You do something with one style of music, and they moan that it's not your normal "scene music", so you do something with more traditional scene music and people moan that it's unoriginal. You can't please everyone :-)
In my case, nobody likes my music whatever I do, so it doesn't matter :-D

Reminds me of that debate I was subjected to on Assembly TV about whether frameranger was a "gamer demo". Decipher possibly had a point.. I imagine the gamers loved it, but so what? So it's a gamer demo.. It's the best gamer demo ever. It also had one of the best lighting models I've ever seen on a home computer. I also like the fact that it was so intense that the ASM compomachine was struggling to play it and dropped a few frames :-D
If calling it a a "gamer demo" is the best criticism you can come up with, then it's not really much of a criticism. It was better than fucking ribbons :-D

If I absolutely HAD to label Frameranger, I wouldn't say it was a gamer demo, I'd say it was Media Error.
Dear thread.
Please die and take all the bitching here with you so we can return to our regular bitching in the product comments. Thank you.

i was a gamer b4 joining the scene.
I have put some 20kg weight since I joined the scene.
My thinking here (after not bothering to read much of the thread, and not particularly caring):
1. This is a site for sceners. People into making demos.
2. There's a bunch of cunts producing nothing more than the kind of crap rp is bitching around.
3. Stop them from posting anything until they've made a demo.
4. ?
5. Profit.

Harism: that's the BP kebabs/sausages/beer :-) Usually I get home from breakpoint and spent 3 days shitting the equivalent of a liquidised breeze block. Breakpoint shouldn't take this as criticism.. I like the food at breakpoint. I love kebabs. Normal people go on a diet after Christmas. Sceners go on a diet after Breakpoint.
psonice: I get what you're saying, you want an initiation test or entrance exam or whatever but that won't stop someone making a craptro with flashing background and "ARSE" on sceen to get comment rights.
There's a lot of people like me who have projects in the works, aspirations, or just respect the scene and I don't think just shutting off audience feedback is a good plan. There will always be dicks. It is the internet.
I agree with those that have said removing the option to be negative might be an idea. The thumb down option invites conflict and fuckings. All I need is the ability to add a demo to my list of cool shit.

"it aint over until the fat austrian posts some hentai spam"
Insectecutor: no, I mean block people from commenting if they're repeatedly being cunty, not when they join. This way everyone can join in, but anyone being a cunt and not contributing gets to stfu until they've made their own craptro and all the people they've pissed off get revenge (or they manage to win BP and prove they were right).
:D
