( hes on 2 vids he recorded/edited aswell !! )

if you meant me, as powl collected the prize for the bonzai bros 4k last year...i am existent aswell, just ask other sceners ;) been on lots of parties the last 2 years ! i even guess you saw me more than once already, just not knowing who i am or sth !

if i can make it depends on if i can pay the trip somehow, looks bad so far, last year i just had an influenza or sth alike the first time in 9 years -> bad luck belongs all to me ! ( winning a contest the first time and not being able to be there :( also i missed family-xmas-party and sylvester was a hard task aswell ! )

i have sth in petto to release already...but as said already: most likely i wont make it due to having no money for train-trips...imma release then some days earlier as a xmas-present to the skene tho :D
So finaly the official partyorganizing startet. Here at the tUM-HQ with coffee and cake.

Not exactly but there are several places where sleeping is possible. Or, if you need the comfort, there are some hotels near the party place.

Can't you just have a skate park somewhere next to the location where people can sleep? :) :) :)
this not evoke :P
You're welcome to sleep outside the partyhall, there is plenty of space. Make sure to bring warm clothes and a sleepingbag suited for snow :D

Do you have a rough idea of when the compo stuff is going to be published? I want to suggest some things to the tracked music compo orga...
Then use the mighty powers of the internet: http://2009.tum-party.net/contact

fix me beautiful
at http://2009.tum-party.net/entertainment/competitions/graphic it says
"All contributions for the music, graphics and videocontent compos will be released under a Creative Commons Licence. Look here for more information!"

But `here' is not a hyperlink, as it is on the other pages.

"will be"? wtf?

It says nothing about remote entries? You propably only allow music and graphics entries if you do allow remote entries? What about the oldskool(low-end) compo, no emulators or videos?

If you like to participate in the music competitions you are not allowed to be registered with a copyright society. This includes (but is not limited to) all member societies of BIEM.

I noticed this last year already. Can somebody explain why such a rule exists? (Since Breakpoint does not have it, I guess it is not required by the German law.) I was told that for example in Hungary it is impossible to legally publish any music without registering with the local BIEM member (called Artisjus, they are as bad as RIAA; but the point is that you don't have any choice, as there are no alternative ways to handle copyright).

blabla, if the musician is registered, then it probably isn't even possible to play his track in the competition without buying a license.

Same for making the entries available afterwards, this may force the carriers to pay royalties.

It is possible for a musician to negociate things a bit more carefully, but the usual standard terms are pretty nasty when it comes to releasing one's own tracks for free (by nasty I mean they make it impossible)

knos(?), I don't think so. It would be extremely weird if it was illegal to give away free stuff. But according to what I heard (I'm neither a lawyer nor a musician), even if you give away your home-made cd-s free, you *must* be (legally) registered (that is, here. No idea about other countries).

(btw, i wish i would get a beer every time somebody spells my nick wrong on pouet...)

Blala, don't know about your country, but in Finland if you register with a copyright society like Teosto, you effectively assign all your rights to them. This means that you can not give away free copies (they are no longer your copies, but Teosto's copies). So royalties need to be payed on public performance (e.g. on the big screen, on AssemblyTV channel), public distribution (even when for free), etc.

Thus we have this very same rule.

Evoke had implied the same restriction for the following reason: If a registered GEMA member performs at an event which takes entrance money, they will have to pay the fee as if they were a normal commercial music event.
Solution: Submit as your alter ego, as long as your alter ego isn´t a registered member as well. Or better do not join GEMA at all (which is basically only useful if you want to make your money from radio broadcasts and shop background music, which both sucks anyway).

A really nice party....but is missing some north europeans....and english bastards. TUM could be the xmas version of Breakpoint if only people bothered to visit. Last year I was there as the only visitor north from Germany....was kinda a bummer imo, but that was mostly my own fault...missed my nordic brothers and sisters too much I guess.
No plans of going this year, but who knows, if some finns and danes suddenly decide to go, I just might tangle along. More people should sign up. It really is like a micro Breakpoint. Deserves more visitors and attention!
