but yes, the best choice for me (had a phone from Tomcat for a while that had this option) seemed to be the main melody of Dope (Onward)

well, i've started on the page but the natural problem is gathering enough ringtones, so if you people would want to contribute, fire away a mail to bent@gathering.org. first of all i'd like to know what kind of phones people use and what capabilities it has (like mine plays back INTEL WAVs at 8bit, 16khz, mono) so that i can collect the right kinds of stuff.

i'll be making the wavs myself, but if you have MIDs or whatever the nokia-breed plays back these days, feel free to contribute.

I just wish I could help - my phone sounds worse than a 1 channel sid tune, so I keep it on a standard ring.

Speaking of sid tunes, some of maktones sid's would surely sound sweet as a ring tone :)

Heh.. I remember I happened to be in a company who all had the same Nokia phone.. so I made a polyphonic chiptune using all of them =).. Now.. THAT was an annoying sound!.. but fun =)

Hehe Ive had the closing bars of 2nd Reality (city scene) on my Nokia for a long while now. The first version sounded shite but I redid it with striping and it actually sounds quite cool now :)
