Breakpoint 2009 - Everything is under control

i refuse to see it before i get my prizes!
Didn't either and not going to, until it comes from TV or something :D
Seemed like crap, though the compo entries were fun.

where did those wolverine entries go, btw? i wanted to rewatch the <difficult hungarian sentence> entry but couldn't find it...
i think they need permission from warner brothers/mgm/fox/fred emmer/etc before they can release the wolverine entries(?)
havoc: I hope not. I thought that the whole point of the compo was that Fox *had* already granted copyright clearance on the raw materials for people to Do Cool Shit with, and that it was pretty goddamn awesome that a major studio might just be "getting it" in some small way and not be acting as culture-monopolising corporate bastards for once? If that's actually not the case, and people have ended up putting their time and effort into work that can't be distributed because the Fox marketing and legal departments didn't get their act together, then that would negate everything that was good about that compo and turn it into unspeakable levels of FAIL. (So let's hope not.)
scamp did say here earlier that they are gonna be spread...

There will be a jury voting to decide the winner, and contest entries won't be immediately spread with the remaining Breakpoint entries - they will be reviewed by Twentieth Century Fox first.
It's simply that after Breakpoint I first had to catch up on work and then have been gone for vacation for 1.5 weeks. And obviously my hope that this would solve itself didn't work out, so I'll now bug Wolverine and ryg so that we'll get the entries released and Fox to send out the missing prizes.
the main thing was that they sponsored us, we saw the entries at the party and that's how much I care actually... but prizes shall be given out!
Nice one. In that case, I hereby retract my wild speculation and wish to state that 20th Century Fox still rule for sponsoring BP.

Typical demoscene involvement would include cracking and patching that kind of bullshit.
Actually it's still more or less my fault. Right now we don't even HAVE those releases as I deleted them from the party FTP so they don't get spread blabla. Soon.
(And yeah, Fox seems to have lost the addresses of the winners they collected at the party or sumthing, gotta ask back.)

Is this a picture from Breakpoint? Looks very similar to me.

leblane: If that is a picture from Breakpoint your nation certainly isn't Germany and the article is a huge mock-up :P.
Well it is BBC technology reporting (and bill thompson in particular). You can't expect much actual journalism. I bet they just searched google images for "computer programmers" ;)
The chairs are the same, and there's a keyboard (as in piano), an oldschool joystick, a C64, so yeah, it probably is. Where else?
Yeah, that's breakpoint alright. Has the chairs, tables and carpet.
and i think thats a SAUFN sticker on the CRT
