Drakensang 3D engine vs. ryg.chaos.bonzaj 3D engines
category: general [glöplog]
The Engine Is Not Open Source. Trees are. Why ppl does not even want to check "credits" of the Dark Eye game.
I and u are fucking open cource.

moredhel, you are wrong.
They always merge, their changes from their "private" branch into the "open source branch" of Nebula every once in a while :)

that is one awesome picture, kb :)
niels, ph34r my google image search skills :)
If its using the Nebula engine but also using commercial speed tree engine, so what the catch? Like ryg said it "i can code a rotating cube by myself!"
Yes we all can, but how fast? quad core? Leave Speed Tree technoloygy to ppl that invented it. Instead of bitchin how it is coded, drop it. You just cant do it, and if you can, you work for EA or something like that.

/me thinks someone seriously underestimates the skill of ryg...
Moredhel: Why do you assume he would work for EA? Everyone knows EA is the McDonalds of the game industry. He'd more likely work for big shots like Rockstar or Ubisoft.
@torus
"someone seriously underestimates the skill of ryg."
If ryg can do speed tree, he's a millionere!
But like Chaos said, he said that the shadow routine of debris wasnt fast enough.

Look, mom! I can do speed tree!
Yes Mom! But Cant Code It Mom!
Nah - I think it takes more than one ingredient for something like speed-tree:
1st: the idea itself.
2nd: the money and environment to let a good coder chew on a problem (works best if cioder is taken out of the release-loop and can fully concentrante on his R&D-job)
3th demand from the market..
4th good marketing

ryg's progress/knowledge seriously scares the bejesus out of me.
we're about the same age and i've always been following his developments/posts a bit and even though i'm in no shabby position myself, again, ryg is just scary :)
(ryg: sorry again for almost getting you into that kebab-store fight back at @ woest 2002, but was nice to meet you in person :-))
is it as buggy as gothic3?
moredhel > what's your point?
i mean, it's page 2 already and i didn't even understand the reason why you opened this thread with such a title

look at the top of the page, what does it say? "POUET". any other questions?
niels, never mind, that kebab store fight you got ryg into is quite perfect storytelling material for drunk thursday nights over here, it's ok *g*
still? oh man, you're in dire need of some fresh stories then :)
*plans all sorts of nasty stuff to do to ryg at bp*
plek: while talking about you. i didn't have any new material :)
ryg: hmm, *ponders*, well i'm a very tame and easy-going guy these days, so sorry.. :)
I have photographs that disprove that!
you referring to my recent ER incident? :)
Among other things, yes.
*insert jerry springer crowd oooh*
