I am not currently interested in struggling for getting one, just because I got so tired of it while I am doing nothing serious about it. Or perhaps my passion for that, is much less than the trouble I have to go for it. If it doesn't help me then I won't help it..
A friend taught me the right questions and I completed it with some more: "Do I really want a girlfriend?", "Why would I need one?", "Which are my motives? How strong are these in comparison to the struggle needed in order to achieve my goal?", "What am I planning to share with her in case I get one?".
Most times when I was pushed in that matter, it was the voice of someone saying "Hey, you are over 21-22-23-xx years old and you still don't own a girlfriend?!" like it was something vital or some kind of lifestyle. But I didn't thought the previous questions. If I don't walk myself but rather walk because of my fears then I won't get one or I might get but get sick later anyways.
I have to listen to myself and when this cloud of negative feelings dissapears then I see that currently at this period and still in my life, I lack the great motives to struggle finding one. I can be lucky (and I actually lost a great and easy opportunity at my 16, my only true one and made the girl really sad too, but I was too small then to take action :P) like other people and she comes easilly to me, but I don't have the mood or energy to come to her right now. I also decided that at this period I still have other problems with myself and my life to solve (and they are getting worse sometimes) and so girls is just another struggle. Perhaps if I find one, she might make my life happier, but am I willing to do her own?

optimus you have a real talent for making life 1000X more complicated than it is :)
If you're not desparate for a gf then you don't need any kind of major struggle to get one, you just need to be patient, and wait for a good opportunity, and give girls the impression that you're at least available :) And if you actually got one, you'd probably find that you'd help her cause you enjoy it and it makes you happy, she'll do the same for you, and with very little effort at all you'll sort out a lot of your problems. Thats the way it works...

hey, come on. "getting a girlfriend" is neither hard nor easy. i think you don't have much influence on that acpect as you might think.
getting a girlfriend isn't hard at all. getting a girlfriend that is neither ugly nor insane is the fucking hardest thing ever.
kusma: getting a *certain* girl who is insane is even much harder. Believe me, i have bad experience. 4 years of it. Which is soon 1/5 of my life!
