would it be fair to call invtros borntros deathtros wedtros greetros and the likes under an overall category called misctro?

you know, for those kind of distinctions that pan was suggestion on the 64k vs intro thread..

anyone can think of any reason to disagreeing with this?

perhaps a better solution would rather be doing a "64k intro" category and leave all those intros you counted above in the "intro category". but on the other hand, who would do all this fucking work of moving prods?

so if its small and quick stuff i can just do it on the fly as i spot them. dont have time for big stuff though, i _am_ on exams after all.. got one on monday :/

a 64k category is not so wise idea, since then you have to make also 40k, 80k, 100k, etc categories, and then we are still speaking about amiga/pc, no exotic platforms yet..

but well.. 256b and 4k already exist...
even though searching for a specific 64k intro and not finding it becasue it was on the 40k category seems abit silly..

If the aim of the game is to separate size optimized stuff from the rest, wouldn't it make sense to create a "size optimized" category instead of some "prison camp" category for anything that doesn't fit your requirements or liking?

Anyway, I just wonder how long it will take before someone will demand another split of the database. And another. And... Oh well anyway.

I looked for a proper topic for 20 pages, than pissed of and wrote in this one.

Both are marked as 64k, which is plain wrong. The prod is about 800k, which can be considered both a dentro, but it's about a site, so it could be quite a bbstro, but it's crap, so it could be a craptro... dunno!

btw, what about the "craptro" category?

borntro and cie are intro or demo, no special category for it, because everybody will start to create his own category and you'll have a lobstro, and asstro, and mothertro....

divide the 64K intros and the 40K intros is not a good idea for me, an intro is an intro, i don't care if on Amiga the intro compo was limited to 40K and if on PC the intro compo was limited to 64K or 100K, all are unique exe file limited in small size and are intro wich means Introduction (it introduce people to know what this group is able to do in few Kb, and will be demonstrated in a future biggest demo).
