the Ultimate Meeting 2008 - 28.12. - 30.12.2008
category: general [glöplog]
79 registrations so far? i'm getting a bit nervous...
Most projectors you can rent in this size (2000-4000 AL) only have XGA panels. Projectors with higher resolution are much more expensive to rent.
Oh by the way, you CAN run your demo in 1280x1024 but our equipment will downscale it to 1024x768 before it reaches the projector. So that would be pretty pointless :)
msg to all: we've ordered the beer today. everything's fine now!
what sort of ?
is beer-from-home allowed ? ( not that i dont wanna support tUM, but when it comes to beer it´s about the taste,u know ;) )
and don´t get nervous because only 80+ ppl registered so far...most just don´t know if they can afford it at the end of a month with gifts-to-make and sylvester following up...poor is what applies to the most ppl i know nowadays, eventho they work their asses off...
some ppl havent registered, just forgot about or don´t know about and others are still struggling...in the end it´ll be as much attenders as always...if not, the ones coming will have to drink all the beer you offer ;) ( x08-style! )

i know you shifted one day without knowing before...
...but is it somehow possible to post some approximate timetable ?
or just implement sth like "not-yet-fixed-times-timetable"-thingie on your page !
just asking because of the .nfo-files, which SHOULD offer the correct release-date, i´d say! ;)
i have to say i like the design of the party-page, after i found out about the navi-bar to the left, when letting scripts go through for it,haha ;)

The Same beer they have at Breakpoint is good. Most german beer Ive tried is better than norwegian, so Ill be happy with what ya got :)
Kölsch and Becks is good :)
Cocoon: Lets do a Amiga Co-op at the party, back to old skills ;)

The deadline for remote entries of all categories is 2008-12-24 12:00:00 (GMT+1)
Damn, that's early - thought I could finish a small entry on the 27th. I guess I have to rely on "traditional remote contribution" then ;)
psycho:
doesn´t that ONLY approve to music/gfx ? i thought you code !
--> code-remote not allowed,only if a person involved @party
tFt:
you´re nuts !
i´m not the correct person to do some microcontroller-stuff...except you code and i give hints only...maybe only hints on color-values,haha....
i mean, it´s totally different to what i did ( amiga 68k ) and how its done....
...not to mention i blasted more than half of my brain away in my drug-career....forgetting almost everything about 68k !
DON´T DO DRUGS, kids !
P.S.: i read again what you posted: yes,you want to do some amiga-stuff....still hard for me, knowledege lost...maybe we can try !

From Helsinki there was a bargain too, at 89 EUR.
But then you have to leave the 26th and back 30th.
However you can get cheap rooms in Frankfurt. Single for less than 35 a night, Twin for less than 45 a night.
COME ON MY FINLAND FRIENDS!!!! HEY HO! LETS GO!!!

there are plenty cheaper ways to get from .nl to karlsruhe (car, train)..
Train aint really that cheap in Germany. XNI/RNO is paying over 250 Euro from Berlin. But I guess there are special offers and whatever if you really get into that stuff. My Point is that people should come. Its not that expensive.
It's like 50 bucks to get from Amsterdam to Karlsruhe or somthing..
hmmm......50 bucks you say. Damn, why didnt I just book a trip to Amsterdam after the party and celebrate New Years there.
Instead of what Im doing now. Staying one night in Frankfurt just to take the first early-morn flight back to Norway the 31st. SCHEISSE!!

Here's the news roundup just before the holidays!
First of all - the timetable is online.
Also we decided on this years entrance-fee. It will be 35 Euro (for both boys and girls) - just as last year.
We have a lot of cool stuff this year. So let's see what's going on:
Jeroen Tel LIVE at tUM 2008
We're very happy to present Jeroen Tel live at tUM 2008! He will be performing for you just before the demo-night.
Jeroen Tel is a founding member of the computer music group Maniacs of Noise and is famous for composing unforgettable tunes for C64 games and demos.
Nuance BBQ
The nice guys from nuance are spending all their buenzli prizemoney on a big barbecue (called the Ultimate Meat-Thing) for all the people attending tUM this year.
So, there will be meat, and lots of it!
the Ultimate Breakfast
Thanks to our friends from Echtzeit - the organization behind buenzli - we'll be having the Ultimate Breakfast this year! Have a little snack and some orange-juice with your scene-friends right before the traditionally delayed prizegiving-ceremony on tuesday.
Jury prize
Thanks to one of our sponsors, we'll have a jury-prize at this year's tUM. Just as our colleagues at buenzli, we'll assemble a jury out of all attendees who will then hand-pick the best production from all the competitions.
We won't tell you about the prize just yet but it will be very unique and very special :-)
Loop competition
We've decided to have a new music-competition this year - a 7 second loop competition. You can read all about it here.
Phew - that should be all for now!

We talked about extending the deadline this weekend. The last possible moment to submit a remote entry will be the 27.12. at 16.00. We'll depart to the location shortly after - so that's the best we can do :-)
Couldn't come :'( Fuckings to my client. Have fun there t$!
Awesome tune, approved!
We're trying new stuff this year!
We'll be having a live party-tweet for the cool kids: https://twitter.com/tum_party

about 150 less registrations than 2006... are we going to have a half empty hall? come on people. dont do remote/shadow parties, show up at the real one. it's going to be great fun.
