this is for those unheard of, non-popular titles that have gone unnoticed. ie, no Metal Gear Solids or God of Wars need apply!
I can recommend two PS2 titles which I've recently completed which are just amazinng and have restored my faith in the games industry:-

Classic first person shooter series are a must. Wolf 3d, Doom, Duke Nukem 3d Atomic Ed., Quake, Painkiller, Half Life, FarCry, Crysis and of course Unreal & Unreal Tournament series.
Also original versions (or conversions from same time) of Space Invaders, PacMan, Galaxian, Boulder Dash, Tetris (gb version is best), Commando (and Bionic Commando, why not)... Classics, sir.
