the c64 was only around for a few weeks.. i discovered the scene on the 386sx/25.. i also have a 386dx/40 now but dosbox has made it obsolete. :)

I don't remember if I posted yet, but anyway, C=64 198?-1995 (Dad's machine, parents finally found it in the attic and gave it away) I remember typing in the basic game Monkey Madness out of the back of an issue of Kid City Magazine, and storing it on tape... And later listening to the screeching when I tried to play those tapes on a tape deck.
Tandy 1000 TL/2 (1988-2004)with 5 1/4" and 3 1/2" (720kb) floppy drives, a 16 (whoa) color monitor and 3-channel PCjr sound. I learned Basic on this one... It finally sorta died by last week, when I pulled it out DOS was doing odd things...
TI-82 graphing calculator (6mhz Z80) 1996-1997- Stolen
Gateway 2000 (Pentium Pro 200mhz) 1997-2003 Had Windows 95, couldn't get it to upgrade to any service packs... The hard drive disconnected/died last summer
TI-83 1998-2000 -Also stolen, or lost. More likely stolen.
Inspiron 8000 800 mhz PIII 2000-2003 My first computer, big chunky laptop. Had three warranty motherboard replacements, an install of Windows ME that was stable (wow!), then the hard drive died in the middle of the school year and I said 'to heck with it'.
TI-200 2002-? I still have it, love it, use it. It's saved my life on many a physics test.
Dell Dimension 4550- 2003-? My parents' machine. It works okay, I guess.
Inspiron 8500 2.5 ghz PIV 2003- Widescreen, shitty audio card, one drive bay, meant to be superthin, and the hard drive died December 30th... I guess it's my fault for buying a Dell.

Mine was a Spectrum 48 - not an original, but one built by hand on a hand-printed-board by some enthusiast. With a diskette drive. Worked worse and worse until 98, as we with family moved from Ukraine to Germany, we left it there. Then diverse PCs. Since today i own a dreamcast!

fear this machine! All coders should sell their hardware to get a hold of this monster!... Yeah right! True piece of crap which I had as a kid and made some ugly games on. I'll bet that there where non, and never will it be any demo productions made on this computer!

C-116 for me :) Got it when I was 6, along with 2 c-64 game tapes, and we wondered why they didn't work :) But hey, I still own an original copy of 'Pacmania' and 'The Muncher' :D

My first machine was 386 and I have been trying all day to get it to boot, It will not recognize the drives at all, The numb lock scroll and caps stay on, no picture So I'm guessing the CMOS battery is dead

with 10 i wanted to have a computer and told my mum. she thought it was some game or so and went to the toy store and bought a 'computer'. at my 11. birthday i got. it was a card playing game about learning basic! this was in gdr times. i was soo frustrated - because i understood nothing ;)

however, my first real machine was an amiga500 later.

c64 -> Amiga 500 -> PC, still use machine one and three. It's all about focus, people ;)
